Brilliant display by Australia. In the end it boiled down to Aus picking 10 wkts or Pak getting 176. And picking up 10 wkts is what they did .... Though I don't see teams like Ind or SA losing this one For Pakistan the game was more like Pathetic-stan. They blew up the advantage of getting to bowl first on this wkt. Only consolation is may be if Pak had batted first, the test could have been over in 3 days If such extreme first inning advantage can't make up for your deficiencies than what will? The worst part about Pak team is it seem to be going through motions most of the time. It appears as if there is no one who could take the fight to the opposition. You don't see that commitment to make a difference. What Pak is also lacking is not talent but cricketers like Watson, who believe in their abilities and their team mates. Pak is also lacking an angryman, someone who can look in to the eye of the opposition and take them on while also spurring competitiveness in his team mates. May be they need Akthar on the field for that. Akthar may not be in great shape but he is one cricketer who takes himself seriously on the field, believes in himself and hates to be not competitive You need people who are looking to take charge of the situation whether it's with bat or the ball. That's one of the reasons why Imran Khan was successful and the influence he could exert on the team mates to do the same. You need people to go out there and weather the storm whether its batting or bowling You need a healthy competition too with in the team. Which is one of the reasons, what made Wasim and Waqar so successful. If Wasim picked up a wkt, Waqar would want to pick one too and vice versa. Similar phenomena was with Ganguly, Dravid and Tendulkar. If one would do well, others would want to do well too It is not always about talent and potential as most cricketers and team have those but it's other qualities too that make you perform at that level up to your potential. This Pak team has too many cricketers who don't have that and just go through the motions. One can blame catches, batting or captaincy but the fact is Pak will manufacture ways to lose a game unless you hand them the game on a platter

PCB: Younus will be send for Aus ODIs PCB: Younus will be send for Aus ODIs Younus Khan will not be sent for the final Test against Australia and instead he will be considered for the ODI series Down Under. Qasim told reporters that there was no logic behind sending Younus to Australia for the final Test at Hobart as they want to give him more time to regain his touch by playing in the domestic circuit. "We have decided not to send Younus to Australia for the Tests as we already have a settled batting combination there and we don't want to upset it now after two Tests," he said. "We believe that Younus has a definite role in Pakistan team and we would like to see him join the team for the five one-day internationals," he stated. "We want him to regain his batting confidence," Qasim added. Of late, Younus has struggled for his form, managing just 11 runs in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final last month. To add to his problems, the right-hander, playing for Habib Bank, was dismissed for just nine and seven runs in the first round game of the Pentangular Cup. . In his place, young Faisal Iqbal has occupied the crucial number three position in the national team in Australia and has done fairly well. Earlier, Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf had asked the Cricket Board (PCB) to rush Younus to Australia in time for the on-going second Test in Sydney after his team lost the first game in Melbourne by a crushing 170 runs. But PCB chairman Ejaz Butt and selectors turned down his request, prompting Yousuf to state that he was disappointed but there was nothing much he could do. Younus, who himself withdraw from the Test tour of New Zealand last year in November because of his poor form and a desire to take a break from international cricket, has also lost the captaincy to Yousuf.

Pak recall Younus for Australia ODIs Pak recall Younus for Australia ODIs Former captain Younus Khan was recalled in Pakistan squad for the five-match ODI series against Australia starting January 22. Apart from recalling Younus, the Pakistan selectors have also retained wicketkeepers, Kamran Akmal and Sarfaraz Ahmed in the both ODI as well as Twenty20 squads. The selectors have, however, dropped senior batsman Misbah-ul-Haq and pacer Mohammad Sami from both the squads while continuing to ignore leg spinner Danish Kaneria from limited overs cricket. "We have spoken to Younus and he is keen to return to international cricket. Captain Mohammad Yousuf also believes that he (Younus) will bring an element of stability and experience to the batting line up in Australia," chief selector Iqbal Qasim said. Yousuf also told the Pakistani media in Hobart that he wanted Younus' return in one-dayers as the former captain was a proven performer and the best batsman at number three position. Younus pulled out of the Test tour to New Zealand in early November last year after Pakistan, under his captaincy, lost a ODI series in Abu Dhabi amidst speculations that a group of players was not cooperating with him. Younus, however, said that he decide to stay out of the series as he wanted a break from international cricket. Subsequently, he also didn't make himself available for the Test tour of Australia which Pakistan has already lost 0-2 before going into the third Test in Hobart. Interestingly, the selectors have not included Yousuf in the T20 squad, led by Shahid Afridi and have recalled Fawad Alam, who was sent back home from Australia after the defeat in second Test in Sydney. Qasim said both stumpers were retained in the ODI and Twenty20 squads as the selectors did not want Kamran to lose complete confidence in his wicketkeeping abilities. "If Sarfaraz continues to keep well he is a good option and then Kamran is also capable of playing as a batsman in limited overs cricket," one selector said. Sarfaraz was specially flown to Australia and debuted in the Hobart Test in place of Kamran, who was dropped after dropping four catches in Sydney. ODI squad: Mohammad Yousuf (Capt), Younus Khan, Shoaib Malik, Imran Farhat, Salman Butt, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Fawad Alam, Mohammad Aamir, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Rao Iftikhar, Rana Naved, Saeed Ajmal and Khalid Latif. T20 squad: Shahid Afridi (Capt), Imran Farhat, Shoaib Malik, Imran Nazir, Salman Butt, Kamran Akmal, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Fawad Alam, Mohammad Aamir, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Rao Iftikhar, Rana Naved, Saeed Ajmal and Khalid Latif.
