patriot
...compared to Pilla aka Pup aka Clarke. Not that the Ar$sies are liked any way but if and when this cheating mofo takes over Ar$sies will be hated with a lot more passion. -->Standing shamelessly after being caught of the most obvious and loud edge possible of Kumble in Sydney and then glaring at Bucknor like he has bought him off for good. --> That junglee like tackle of SRT, in the final of the CB series. More reasons to hate Pilla ? Link to comment

patriot
Saddistically, to see Aussie test cricket plummet lower - I want Pilla to take over ASAP. If Windies manage to draw this Perth test as well the Aussie media after all those attacks on the WI team will again train its guns on Ponting for allowing WI to draw 2/3 tests. Punter atleast is far better at man management. Pup comes across as undiplomatic, uncouth - far more than Ponting. His fallouts with Symonds and fist fight ( ?) with Katich are examples of how this overtly aggressive " new age" player as Gilly calls him, are going to cause a few dressing room squabbles for Australia. Below: Gilly backing Pup to lead the team soon... http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/gilly-backs-clarke-to-lead/story-e6frf9if-1225809942479 Link to comment

Dinx - the Jinx
When one devil goes, another will take over.. seriously, dont they have anyone better than clarke in australia to becum the next captain.. disgusting... Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
They do. Katich is a gentleman, a really passionate but dignified player and has the guts and character to lead the team. Unfortunately he's not the marketable prodigy player that Clarke is, so no. Link to comment
Dinx - the Jinx
What bloody prodigy.. He is not setting the stage on fire either.. so why not give to Katich.. I think he led the NSW team well in the Champs Leage. Is he their captain in the FC games as well? Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Re. the prodigy - that's how the media's painted him. Remember how he was basically anointed as a future captain before he'd even gotten his first cap? :wall: Link to comment
The Outsider
Ponting has pretty much let his intentions of continuing till the 2013 Ashes known - let's see if his batting and captaincy form allow him to do so. Link to comment
Gambit
Ponting apparently claimed a bump catch in this match. Link to comment
graphic23
If you didn't watch it Gambit, it was one of the most retarded appeals and 3rd umpire referrals of all time. Link to comment
SRT PWNS
I hope Ponting calls it quit soon, I don't see him going as far as the 2013 Ashes, but I just don't know with him. Link to comment

I remember that... in the 2004 series it think.. he played his first test at Bangalore and the media was already praising him as the next best thing in aussie cricket, the future captain etc etc..
