Andy Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I dont thnk fielding has a signifigant role to play in Tests. And u didnt mention bowlers' date=' So even if u talk abt Lara , Ponting and Kallis i'll wait and chck few stats and will reply u soon!![/quote'] After ching stats and achievents.. I wud rate both Kallis and Ponting higher dan Sehwag in dis Decade..!! But wud give them the advantage of more matches..dat was unavailable in Sehwags cause!! I wud rate Veeru on Par wid Lara in this Decade!!
S.Bond Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Sehwag has scored 2 tons on bowlers paradise in NZ!! Where no batsman frm either teams were able to manage a 50!! He scored a debut ton in SA!! he has tons in AUS, in Eng!! So to start, sehwag never scored 2 tonss in new zeeland on bowling paradise, because sehwag never scored more than 48 in 9 innings played their, and some were on good batting pitches... he averages 20 in new zeland, his only ton against NZ came at mohali and that after, richardson, vincent, styris and mcmillan scored hundreds in the first inningss...
Andy Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 could you name some batsmen whose chances to succeed increase on Lively pitches ... :hmmm: :haha:
Celeste Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 could you name some batsmen whose chances to succeed increase on Lively pitches ... :hmmm: Dravid,Sangakara,Umar Akmal

He scored 2 tons as i claimed b4 i will stand by it!! They wre in a ODI series!! Those tracks were the worst ever pitches!! Even pie chuckers got wickets on dat track!!
S.Bond Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 could you name some batsmen whose chances to succeed increase on Lively pitches ... :hmmm: wheen i said lesser, i meant lesser than other batsmen... And when sehwag gets going on a batting paradise he is better than anyone, it''s why his records are so good;... guys I LIKE SEHWAG, I THINK HE IS VERY GOOD;... but still not great...
Andy Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 wheen i said lesser, i meant lesser than other batsmen... Ok Umar AKmal is the gretest batsman!!
S.Bond Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Ok Umar AKmal is the gretest batsman!! You should not say what i didn't ssaid, i didn't even talk about umar akmal...
Andy Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 You should not say what i didn't ssaid' date=' i didn't even talk about umar akmal...[/quote'] Sehwag isnt the greatest of this Decade..i agree on dis!! Now if u say Sehwag isnt a great batsman then its equivalent to be calling Umar AKmal the greatest!!
maggot_brain Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Remember 2002 Odi series in NZ?? Silly me, I was only looking at the test records.
Andy Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Silly me' date=' I was only looking at the test records.[/quote'] :king:

Now if u say Sehwag isnt a great batsman then its equivalent to be calling Umar AKmal the greatest!! hmmmm nice theory.... sehwag has done some amazing things, but according to me he need to do more;.. Especially with averages in south africa, new zeland, england;.. You know sehwag averages 41 outside asia... If only he can take care of this, that will be great...
Laaloo Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Yes I know .... but who are those other batsmen for whom this criteria does not apply ? Inzi bro. Mashallah at his hundred on a greenz greeenz pitch in SA bro u rememba bro

He has two big tons in AUS. An avg of 60 in aus!! Throw ur theory of NZ who are the worst team in the world if he can score agsint the best at their backyard ..Then he is the best!! As far as SA is concerned even ponting has failed in India!! Wud u not call him a great??
S.Bond Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Inzi bro. Mashallah at his hundred on a greenz greeenz pitch in SA bro u rememba bro Inzi scoed a geat 92 not out in south afica in a low coring game... That was a truly geat innings;.... for many reason...http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/250666.html

I also agree with your earlier point that he absolutely maxes it on batting friendly pitches. I think Pringle's point is that he's the biggest impact player around- the sort of player who can change a match single-handedly, a bit like a bowler who's almost unplayable if he gets the slightest help from the pitch. The same bowler may not be the best performer on flat batting pitches, but you don't really mind because you know sooner rather than later, he'll get you a ten-fer for next to nothing on a pitch with a tinge of green on it. (Boss, pointless trying to explain the niceties of batting to Pakistani fans- they really have no idea how batting works. You gotta invoke bowling analogies, preferably phaast ones).

Hmmmm i dind't really understand your theory about new zelan;... but hmmmm sehwag played in 5 matches in NZ india lost two and won one... if your point was, no need to score against them;... and what if i tell you that virender ssehwag's highest score in wins outide asia is 47, and he averages 23.90 in wins outside asia... Isn't that a big concern???
