Did you see MoYo getting out to the short pitched delivery from Siddle ? He took his eyes off the ball & gloved it while taking evasive action. He got out in similar fashion in NZ as well (to a rising delivery). And this guy is deemed a great batsman because he averages 54! As for knee-jerk selections, I think there is a cultural aspect to this. Asians by nature have this habit of overreacting to successes and failures. India used to be like that in the 90s. But India and SL have evolved on this aspect. You can see that in the relative stability of the XIs. But Pakistan hasnt evolved. Which is why we see players given one or two chances dumped, rotated, recycled and 6 months later they are back again in the squad. Here are some gems i gathered surfing rival message boards: * It is always the player who is not in the XI who'd have saved the team. Afridi & Razzaq were the key allrounders missing. Apparently they have a lot bigger heart than the rest (though Aloomia may object to it) * Shoaib Malik would have been a much better player than Faisal Iqbal (never mind he sucked just two tests ago and Faisal was brought back from wilderness). * Is MoYo the right captain ? * Waqar (who has been a coach for 8 hours) has not done a good job with Aamer. * Ajmal (who was supposed to the secret weapon) is useless * Farhat (who just made a century & had established himself two weeks ago) is technically poor and has been exposed. Just one more failure, calls to Khurram Manzoor will erupt. * The selectors have committed a huge blunder by not picking some Talha, Walha, Jalha and a bunch of other no namers for this tour. Talent alone will not take Pakistan's cricket forward. This team needs better leadership. Unfortunately, because of politics and factions no one is allowed to emerge/stay powerful for very long.

Haha, I just finished typing my last post & I already gather that YK is being called by the team management. Are these guys for real ? YK should have been there in the first place, but to dump him and call him back after batting for less than 2 sessions is overreaction of the highest order. God help this team!

You forgot to mention the most important point...that Imran Khan alone can save the cricket team and the country. He should be batting coach, bowling coach, non playing captain, fitness coach, selector, chief of Pak cricket board, president of Pakistan, defence minister and also foreign affairs minister, while also holding the chief of ISI post.

Bumps, it's happened. Eunice is Oz bound on Khazak airlines as we speak, flying economy class. Withdrew from team after an ODI loss v NZ in Sharjah (prestigious as they get, innit?) because he felt he'd "lost the confidence of his players". ("Tum pe se aitbaar uth gaya, Eunice bhai"). The other bhai in the team, Yousufbhai, grinning like a maniac, took over the poisoned chalice, but is apparently finding it quite hard going (not because the side is doing badly, but because he detests being the seniormost player being outscored by Umar Akmal). From "Don't cry for me, Pakistan", Eunicebhai has gone to humming, "On Khazak we fly". Meanwhile, PCB are petitioning IOC for "musical chairs" to be inducted as an Olympic sport.
