vvvslaxman Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 You're just trying to argue for the sake of arguing. Yuvraj is not a good test batsman' date=' stop defending his mediocre record that goes worse outside the subcontinent.[/quote'] He will come around. But should he fail we have lot of promising youngsters who are ready to take his place. Didn't Kohli have good run in Australia in emerging player tournament. Our batting reservoir is not so empty that we need a Pakistan batsman to replace.
OriginalCopy Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Don't be so emotional, buddy. Nobody can replace an Indian player with a Pakistani player and vice versa. This was just a hypothetical example to say that a player with calibre of Umar Akmal can play in the Indian team as well. Nobody is replacing anybody here for real, chill :-)
S.Bond Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 We compare Yuvraj's ability with ability of Indian batsmen. That is why he is considered to be inferior. If anything Yuvraj will replace any one of your top 3. :hysterical: hmmmmm you still don't want to understand... just post , post and post... Umar akmal is young as are kholi, shama and other talentd indians... I am not even comparing them... I just say that IF umar was indian ( i am happy he is not) he would have taken yuvraj's spot, beecause he hass prooved his self in test cicket...

He would still be playing Ranji Trophy just like Rahane, Vijay, Badrinath, Pujara. :winky:
S.Bond Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 No.. He would still be playing Ranji Trophy just like Rahane' date=' Vijay, Badrinath, Pujara. :winky:[/quote'] I don't want too of topic with you... hmmmmm ok but for the moment he is a pakistani, playing his 4th ovrsea tet, scoring in NZ and in Australia... He looks very good...
satishg Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Umar will quite easily replace Yuvraj in the test squad, there is no question about it. And i mean that in the current context.
Macj Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 When this guy turns 28 or 29 he should captain Pakistan.
davidcooper Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Umar will quite easily replace Yuvraj in the test squad' date=' there is no question about it. And i mean that in the current context.[/quote'] no, yuvraj is many times the class of a batsman that umar akmal will ever be. don't buy the hype, akmal is a good batsman by pakistan standards, they barely have 2-3 class batsmen like inzi and moyo in this decade hence the hype but umar akmal will not get into the test or ODI sides of the indian team, he might in the 20/20 side
fineleg Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Umar will quite easily replace Yuvraj in the test squad' date=' there is no question about it. And i mean that in the current context.[/quote'] Replacing Yuvraj in Tests is easy. He is not (yet) a good Test batsman no' date=' yuvraj is many times the class of a batsman that umar akmal will ever be.[/quote'] In ODIs what you say is absolutely correct. However, In Tests, Yuvi does not have much class yet. He is still a wannabe in Tests.
davidcooper Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 there you go he's good but not anywhere close to great, i rest my case
vvvslaxman Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Too much hype. Pitches are becoming flatter and flatter. You will see loads of umar akmals coming up. Phil Hughes. Ring a bell?
Pak_Forever Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 like Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Dravid etc have never failed......especially under pressure. I rest my case.
vvvslaxman Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Compared to the other new comers in Pakistan Umar Akmal is gold. That i agree.
satishg Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 There are so many factors that can cause a cricketer to lose his cricketing career and that too Umar being a Pakistani cricketer the situation is even worse so if all the outside factors are under control and if he stays focused this kid will definitely go places!
ViruRulez Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 test : yuvraj singh ODI : raina or even jadeja... he is not even fit to carry drinks for Raina leave apart replacing him in the team.. Raina has already turning into a world-class player while Crapmal is only a chaprachi class cricketer right now :giggle:
Dravid Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 When this guy turns 28 or 29 he should captain Pakistan. make him cappy now, he is the brightest bulb in that room pakis are known to get dumber not wiser with age...
Chalks Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 We have Toffee Kumars in every galli. As I said in the MCG match thread, Umar looks like a special talent. He will have his down periods (even SRT has had a few troughs), the question for Pak is how they (mis)handle him when that happens.
riya Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 like Tendulkar' date=' Yuvraj, Dravid etc have never failed......especially under pressure. I rest my case.[/quote'] U mean he choked under pressure. So would u guys start calling him chokmal:giggle:
King Tendulkar Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 U Akmal looks very good. How he will go over all is diffucult to say. But no doubt he is rare talent from pakistan. But at the moment he is batting without a care in the world. Lets see how he does when expectation is upon him to deliver time and again
