he should picked on his ranji exploits.cl and ipl should have no say in his selection.
Is there a domestic 50 over format too.. I have heard a lot of the domestic T20 series and I think there is another BCCI T20 tournament starting from Oct 20.. but are there any domestic 50 over formats.. I dont think it is right to judge a player's ODI worth by the virtue of Test match ability or T20 ability.. both the formats are quite distant from the ODI format.. a slogger can do well in T20 while a tuk tuk player can do well in test.. ODI selection should be based on domestic 50 over formats and how domestic talents cope up to the 50 over format .. I believe 50 over formats should be the yardstick for selecting domestic talents rather than T20 or Ranji formats

cowlasher? some ignoramuses need to buy a cricketing brain the shots he played today were all proper cricketing shots.impressive timing.plays with a staright bat often. some improvisation to surprise the bowler as well plays positive and goes after the bowling relentlessly. is weak on the pull.it lacks bite currently. very impressive and one for the future.can succeed in ALL formats. stop this nonsense about t20-tests.these youngsters are equipped to handle it.

this is a good example of how dhoni will never have the knack of picking good young players who will be future superstars like gangluy brought in sehwag, bhajji, yuvraj, zaheer

First saw him in U-19 world cup. He played some good shots through off side. Both horizontal n straight batted shots. Who knows may be he's adjusting to T20 format with some 'effective' shots.

"this is a good example of how dhoni will never have the knack of picking good young players who will be future superstars like gangluy brought in sehwag, bhajji, yuvraj, zaheer" Sehwag scored 900 runs in ranji trophy , hit 2-3 big 100s in quick time in crucial before called back into the team, Bhajji took 47 and 53 wickets in 99 and 2000 domestic seasons, Yuvraj was a superstar of u-19 world cup and came into the team ( much like Kohli), Zaheer came into the team after taking 45-50 wickets and being the most impressive pacer in the domestic circuit. Yes the captain backed them and they did well. But then which captain doesnt back youngsters, its upto the indivual to use those chances and cement his place.

194 :woot: I am not follow Ranji but whom did he hit against. Good to see that he is proving his talent at the domestic level. If he does well for another couple of matches he should surely be given a chance.
