Interesting thread. Note that some people like Zaheer are right handed batsman, so are we assuming that we're talking about their dominant skill? Anyway this is my side (keep in mind, I wasnt alive to watch cricket back prior to the 80s so Im going by those who I have seen). I am basing this primarily on Test form given that its the one consistent benchmark right through the past 25-30 years LEFTIES XI Matthew Hayden Graham Smith Brian Lara Allan Border ( c ) Kumar Sangakkara David Gower Adam Gilchrist Wasim Akram Daniel Vettori Mitchell Johnson Zaheer Khan RIGHTIES XI Virender Sehwag Sunil Gavaskar Ricky Ponting Sachin Tendulkar Steve Waugh ( c ) Jacques Kallis Mahendra Dhoni Shane Warne Curtley Ambrose Glenn McGrath Muttiah Muralitharan I think the righties would get home pretty comfortably in the end though

I wouldnt say he is over hyped but he is not one of the greatest left arm pace bowlers ever. He has had a few good recent series but he was not nearly consistent enough in test cricket for much of his early career. Alan Davidson: fast med bowler from the 60s who could bat a bit, would get in there. Vaas is a good call. If two spinners could play it would be Bedi and one of Vettori or Underwood Id also play Border instead of Lloyd I think, and have him captain

I think if Zaheer bowled less on subcontinental wickets, he would have a much better record. I havent seen much of Alan Davidson or Zaheer Abbas. It was a tough choice between Kirsten and Smith and quite frankly, Id toss a coin and choose between the 2. I think Smith is a bit tougher mentally though, but Kirsten is better technically.

LEFTIES XI Roy Fredericks Mathew Hayden Gary Sobers © Brian Lara Michael Hussey Graeme Pollock Adam Gilchrist Wasim Akram Alan Davidson Bishen Singh Bedi Mohammad Aamir/Wayne Parnell RIGHTIES XI Desmond Haynes Virender Sehwag Ricky Ponting Sachin Tendulkar Vivian Richards VVS Laxman MS Dhoni Andrew Flintoff Shane Warne Michael Holdings Curtly Ambrose In truth though I dont think an all-right or all-left team will fare as well as a mixed team. Plus Warne does not bowl well in the subcontinent while Murali does not bowl well outside - in general. So, there is a problem in the spin department for the righties. Other than that, the lefties start with an advantage as it is always difficult to bowl to left handers and it is difficult for right handed batsmen to face left handed bowlers. But the sameness may help them somewhat - true for both teams. ________ MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARD
