Idiot dumbarse minister Instead they should have gone for modernisation of the existing black and yellow cabs make it all airconditioned .I see a pil coming up against this rule. Though I support the domicile rule,the mandatory marathi rule is stupid . But don't think it should matter marathi is not a diffcult language anyways.They asked couple of taxi drivers about this and most of the drivers agreed with the domicile rule but not with mandatory marathi rule.So A.L. QUADROS should shut the **** up.

It is an old rule which is going to be re inforced more stringently .The rule was long overdue.in fact even the state bjp is in favour of the 15 year domicile rule. p.s. the toothless maharashtra government has overturned the marathi only rule but the domicile rule stays.

Maharastra govt. is now planning to make it mandatory for all people in Maharastra speak only in Marathi even with foreign dignitaries and official appointments .. even IAS officers will need to learn Marathi to remain in Maharastra :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: BTW regarding this topic, the govt. later on said anybody knowing the local languages in Maharastra like Hindi and Gujrati can also get taxi permits .. they toned down about the taxi thing and SS attacked them as giving up I think now there is a competition between all the political parties in Maharastra to play the Maratha card .. Except for major cities in maharashtra, hindi is rarely spoken .but they are not against it . Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur etc. still take these crap and not say against it Most of it know its bakwaas and the rule is mostly a problem in mumbai since marathis speaking percentage is less or negligible and not in rest of maharashtra. Most of the people in mumbai re used to it by now .In rest of maharashtra the language rule doesnt affect them much ,since most of the public speak marathi. Most of the people in mumbai and rest of maharashtra support the 15yrs domicile rule but probably dont support the marathi only rule .Again marathi isnt a difficult language ,if you know to speak,write in hindi.
