Seems like all the IPL related Pak apologists from India have forgotten 26/11.

Why do these shameless traitors have such a short memory ? When each cricket diplomacy act is followed by a repeated terrorist incident, why do these people side with Pak on the IPL issue ? The whole world and India have bombarded Pakistan with proof of 26/11 originating firmly on its soil yet Hafeez Syed is still a free man and LET is still a thriving organization. Every day intelligence agencies point of relentless infiltration efforts. Dawood Ibrahim still lives freely in Karachi. If former cricketers like Miandad and Zaheer Abbas can openly make anti- India statements, why the efff can't any former INdian cricketer or media spokesperson not take Miandad to task for his country shielding a wanted terrorist and criminal like Dawood whose act in 1993 killed nearly 500 in Mumbai and that he continues to fund activities against India? With the current power ( which is only going to rise exponentially ) that India wields, we must isolate and bring Pakistan down so low that the chin thuds the ground.

You are a judgemental moron arent you? For some one who rarely posts on matter of politics it is amazing to see you post on a politics forum and tag everyone who apparently disagrees with you as "apologists"! There are multiple arguments by which your post can be looked at but let me know when you are willing to have basic minimum courtsey required for a discussion, then change your title suitable to refletc so. Else feel free to slither around in your hatred filled vile.

Lurker, do you agree with the fundamental fact that Pak players were not allowed in IPL 2010 because they were Pakistani's ? Why do we need to apologize for this when this is our country, our league and who we want in our tournament is solely up to our discretion I just cannot support people who represet a government who for 60 + years have made spreading terrorism in India a state policy, I just can't.

First of all you need to get real. This is NOT your league. Who gave you that impression?? This is a league that is run by Modi, and his cronies, and is lapped by a few money hungry folks. Period. Try doing anything for/against it and see if your voice registers anything at all. Onto Pakistani angle now. It seems incredible to see educated people make that kind of argument. Shahid Afrid and Sohail Tanveer(his recent comments not withstanding) have nothing to do with Talibaans and Al-Qaeda. Even those who are now having orgasms would admit that not allowing Pakistani players to compete in IPL does absolutely nothing to India's security. Will not picking Afridi quell down Kashmir insurgency? Or will it stop plots that are being hatched in Mirpur?? So how exactly did this help us other than making us look as some childish country where its citizens have little confidence in their Govt and Security agencies and more on some third rate cricket league owners?
I just cannot support people who represet a government who for 60 + years have made spreading terrorism in India a state policy, I just can't.
You need to get a grip or no-one will treat your opinions with respect. 60+ years of terrorism??? You do realize terrorism in India is largely an offshoot of early 80s. That would cut down your time by more than half and make you seems like a hyperbole who does not know what he is talking about. xx

This is a bit tangential to your point, but it warrants saying here: Each time I think of 26/11, I am angry, but it is not directed against the Pakistanis. Rather, it is against the traitors who live on our own soil, but helped the outsiders gain access and refuge while they plotted. Against our callous and inefficient authorities who couldn't be bothered to protect their own brave officers. Against our politicians and law enforcement czars who have not had the courage to bring down even ONE of these traitors to book. We are hanging our hats on a single pawn - a non-entity like Kasab - while the plotters, the traitors and the authorities who allowed it are all scot-free. Shame.

It's difficult to even know where to begin when replying to such illogical, and jingoistic rants : 1. "Our country, our league, our tournament, our discretion" - how can anyone type that with a straight face? The IPL and franchises are strictly private entities. The government said as much a couple of days back just to reiterate an obvious point. They are organizing and marketing a cricketing event to the public. That's about it - there is no public ownership of the event. And even if it's "our league" why doesn't "our league" grow a pair and say Pakistanis are not allowed? 2. If the exclusion of Pakistani cricketers is a step by the government as part of a larger diplomatic process to pressurize Pakistan into doing more on the terrorism front, it would have my support. As things stand the government has completely washed it's hands from the entire thing - so there goes the notion of sending out any sort of diplomatic message. 3. As was likely the case that all franchises agreed beforehand not to take any Pakistani cricketers, they should have come out with a clearly worded statement before the auction stating their reasons. There would still have been uproar across the border, but at least we would have done things in an above board manner. As things stand, the only villains in the entire episode are the franchises and BCCI. 4. The exclusion of Pakistani cricketers has accomplished nothing except to fulfill some thirst for vendetta amongst a certain section of the population. The only thing it has given is a feeling of gloating to see Pakistanis suffer. It has not even taken an inch forward the any proposed solution to the real problems. But it seems like humiliating others and gloating about it after playing underhanded cards gives people a lot of pleasure.

? The same could be said for any average IPL fan. Generally speaking, IPL is not referred to as Modi's league and the franchises are not refered to as Wadia's franchise, Ambani's franchise etc - Fans of the respective franchises refer to their team as "my team" and Indians, in general, refer to the IPL as "our league"

Where this came from, I don't know, I don't make such a reference in my original question nor understand the relevance to what I asked. Since the core of my original question remains unanswered, I will ask again. Do you or do you not agree that Pakistani's were barred from the IPL because they were Pakistani's ? If the owners didn't want Pakistanis in their team, WHAT EXACTLY is the problem and what authority does anyone else have to question their decisions ?

Looks some of you guys think humiliating a bunch of cricketers with some under-hand dealings is a way to fight terrorism, or may be it is just a way to feel good cause we haven't been able to handle the core issue effectively?

and the common man who promptly went out and voted to put those exact same scumbags into power yet again within months .. and our fooking coward mentality .... and so on and so forth ... these are the reasons why me perrsonally have given up on India except for cricket .... we desrve what we get and there is no point blaming anyone.
I think your thinking is exactly right BB. Give up on India when BJP is kicked out of power. Here's raising toast to your whole - "I-shall-embrace-India-again-when-BJP-wins-and-will-give-up-on-India-again-when-Congress-wins" xx

I am afraid you are the one exposing yourself as someone with a very limited ability to comprehend. Where have I tagged any ICF poster as apologist ? Did you even read a few lines in the post ? I know you have always exposed soft heart for the Paksis..but thats besides the point. You really need some comprehension lessons. Anyone with some common sense would understand that I am alluding to the media frenzy in India and alot of former cricketers sympathizing with Pakistanis. I am alluding to the fact about how scores of former Pakistan cricketers have for years spoken out vehemently against India the country. These same cricketers have commented in India - Pak series and have been welcome guests in India. Yet, no former cricketer apart from Kirti Azad I think has not taken Pakistan to task to clean the filthy mess at their home and put a full stop to sponsorism terrorism against India. And again, this thread was not even posted on the political section, it was moved by the moderators, to this section. But then, like the rogue 'know it all' pundit you are, you also think you have the right to decide who must and must not post and where.

And they are as big a moron as Shahid Afridi is when he says not picking Afridi was an insult for Pakistan. How does Wadia franchise = India? Unless you are also equally proud of Azim Premji's billions and consider it "our" money I fail to see why IPL is "our" league. And since when did this effing league become "Indian" anyway? It is a masala tournament which is in its IIIrd season and still has not hosted a single game in over 2/3rds of India.
Since the core of my original question remains unanswered, I will ask again. Do you or do you not agree that Pakistani's were barred from the IPL because they were Pakistani's ?. And where did you see my question their "authority"??? Please point me to exact argument of mine. My logic was downright simple(not sure how you missed it). Whether someone gets picked or not is upto the owners but to somehow suggest this is because of terrorism yada yada and see Indians getting orgasmic over something that will do absolutely nothing to security etc is ridiculous. Hope that helps.
Whether you agree to my opinion or not is beside the point, I have my reasons for the opinions I hold.
So you are entitled to idiotic opinions? Heres a simple question - Prove it (with timeline) how we have been battling terrorism for 60+ years . Put up or shut up. Simple? xxx

So lets get to the bottom of YOUR comprehsion skill ace. Show me how IPL and 26/11 are related(both of them find mention in your title). So over to you.

So your madarassa school of thought suggests to cancel Sohail Tanveer's contract based on what Miandad has said over the years :winky: And why would an Indian cricketing great choose to get down in the gutter like Pakistani cricketer anyway?? There is a reason why players ranging from Sunny to Dravid are considered great human beings. I have not seen one Pakistani cricketer mentioned with same grace as Sachin, including Imran Khan. SO yes you are free to think Sachin should get down in the toilet a la Aamir Sohail but feel free to not expect the same from Indian fans.

Give it a rest, mate. For someone who fails to comprehend basic things, you are expecting too much from Lurker. It's beyond his mental capacity to understand how such measures at isolating a country and it's people is an indirect but strong way of making them pay the price of state sponsoring terrorism. Look at the absolute chaos and outrage it has caused in Pakistan. Can you imagine India the country being the same if it is marginalized in cricket ? HEck no. Cricket is as much a craze in Pakistan as in INdia. Only a dimwit like Lurker will striuggle to understand what isolation can do to a country. Each time they plot some nefarious plan against India, they would be vary of what we can do to them. With India's growing influence and power this is the best way we can wage a war with them for the way they have been indirectly engaging us in Kashmir through terrorists. ONly a moron would ask the question " how can terrorism be stopped by preventing Pak cricketers"

Umm..answered already, mate. Too much bodywork and beef protein has permanently damaged your capacity to undertand ( if you ever had that )what diplomatic warfare can do the recipient country. Give it a rest.

How is it diplomatic warfare when we first allow them to be included and then not pick any of them? This sounds more like diplomatic nightmare.

They are pure businessmen, who give a feck about anything apart from maximizing the profit for their franchise. If you have following the news, you would know that the govt refused to promise security to the pak players which is where the franchise owners panicked at the last moment. Those underhand tactics were the govts and I applaud them for it. You think the shamelessly money hungry BCCI does not want to make money out of playing cricket with Pak ? It would be naive to assume that they are not following govt diktats.
