Are these people So important in TEST ?
In the great scheme of things they are replaceable and not ALL THAT important. I think India can triumph without them. Yuvi is in poor form at present anyway, so maybe the injury is a blessing in disguise. I have respect for Karthik, but India can play without him and excell. Sree, well in general SA supporters tend to be wary of him, but again, the team doesn't NEED him. Kohli I want in the team. Rahul, he's The Wall.

Sree is injured. India can't dream of playing a Test Series at home without Sree. That would be like buying a kanghi but having no hair :cantstop:
sree has performed well against southafrica and with ishant struggling and zak not too good against top teams we are bound to miss him,.remember aour spinners now are average at best and cannot be expected to pick wickets.

Sad to see Dravid iout of the first test and may be even the series. No need to say it is a big blow to Ind .... Sree is injured too but may be fit before the 2nd test .... Yuvi is out of the whole series Saha is good but I don't know why they had to drop Karthik! Bhajji still hangs on to his place, I hope he makes it count Badri finally is set to earn his test cap, while Mithun comes in for injured Sree after coming up with some brilliant performances in the Ranji so it will be a good experience for him to be with the squad and who knows might sneak in ahead of Ishant if he does well in the warm up game!

That 5/40 spell he bowled against them in the 1st Test in South Africa, against South Africa in 2006 really rattled the Saffers. After that spell, SA were playing catch-up all series :two_thumbs_up:

Great selection in both teams I am impressed with the selection in both the teams, looking at present crop of fast bowlers and batsman these are the best available, I am perticularly happy with the selection of fast bowlers, it appears that the chika have put more emphasis PACE in selecting them, we must look at bowlers who can bowl 140+ and sustain that pace and line leanth for long periods, last few year too often we had bowlers who would bowl couple of bowl in access 140+ and then rest is mediocore 130+. PACE is must these days with all world leading test nation have bowlers bowling at 140+, unless you have Mcgrath like accuracy and guile. By selecting Mithun, Umesh Yadav, Gony from the lot of trundlers in both teams it appears that present selection commitee heading right direction

The only surprising thing was that we did not carry even one extra batsman .. there are exactly 6 specialist batsmen.. hope they do the net practice carefully and none of them gets injured.. the selectors should have included at least one reserve batsman instead of going with the exact 6 needed for the 11
