Gambit Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Iframe: Open in new window At the age of 17, SRT had, from what it seems, a 100+ p'ship with a 40 year old Imran against the West Indies in Canada(of all places!). What's more Haynes was dismissed caught Tendulkar bowled Imran. A 21 year old Lara was also playing in this game.
Desi Cartman Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 why did Imran come ahead of SRT :hitler:
Gambit Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 why did Imran come ahead of SRT :hitler: SRT started in ODIs as a late middle order bat usually batting at 5 or 6.
Desi Cartman Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Umpires SA Bucknor, A Gudgeon No wonder there are no LBWs in the entire scorecard
Gambit Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 SRT was in the World XI team in 1990!!! No idea why GD Mendis was opening for this side. Apparently, this guy has never even played international cricket.
achilles Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Great stats, Gambit. Nice find :two_thumbs_up:. Sachin or Goddie, as people call him here, was a superstar from the day he started playing cricket :--D
S.Bond Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 That should be a batting paradise... For world XI making this score agaisnt this bowling line up....ouahhhh Is it a real scorecard???
saneindian Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 That should be a batting paradise... For world XI making this score agaisnt this bowling line up....ouahhhh Is it a real scorecard??? Once a troll always a troll. You are as consistent as Afridi is with his brain freezes.
Karan114 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Once a troll always a troll. You are as consistent as SRT. Dude I know what you mean, but please don't smear Sachin by comparing him with these low life paki trolls.
ludhianvi Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Skydome or the Rogers Centre as its called now is a baseball stadium. I would be surprised if they had a proper pitch laid there for the cricket match.
The Outsider Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Skydome or the Rogers Centre as its called now is a baseball stadium. I would be surprised if they had a proper pitch laid there for the cricket match. IIRC, Canada hosted a few of these exhibition/charity matches in the late 80s - early 90s on matting wickets.
Guest Hiten. Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Skydome or the Rogers Centre as its called now is a baseball stadium. I would be surprised if they had a proper pitch laid there for the cricket match. Dude, I think 2 years ago India XI vs Pakistan XI was held at the Dome. Akram, Jadeja, Waqar were few of the stars that I recall coming there. Canadian board has some issues with The Skating Curling Club (which holds the authority over the 'proper' stadium that we have in Canada), hence they decided to use their maple leaf ground and are looking further to develop it into international stadium.
Dinx - the Jinx Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I vaguely remember watching highlights of this match on DDs "World of Sports". It used to come on Sundays at 4:00PM with Narotam Puri as the host.. Good old days.. huh.. GD Mendis - isnt he Duleep Mendis. IIRC, he was captain of the Srilankan team for a while and definitely played some internatioal matches..
ludhianvi Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 IIRC' date=' Canada hosted a few of these exhibition/charity matches in the late 80s - early 90s on matting wickets.[/quote'] Yes, I've seen matting wickets used on this ground. Dude' date=' I think 2 years ago India XI vs Pakistan XI was held at the Dome. Akram, Jadeja, Waqar were few of the stars that I recall coming there. Its a baseball ground. You can imagine how the boundaries would have been. But yeah, the other proper gounds are good. India should host some matches back in Toronto. Should be able to get good crowds. [ame= Cricket Legends: India VS Pakistan Ending[/ame]
Lurker Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 GD Mendis - isnt he Duleep Mendis. IIRC' date=' he was captain of the Srilankan team for a while and definitely played some internatioal matches..[/quote'] Nope. He was Gevan Mendis, a prolific scorer in English counties in those days. Quite respected actually
