My concern is not ideology but the safety of Indians. What about those civilians who might not support terrorism? Kill them too? What about innocent children who don't even know what terrorism means? Kill them too?My philosophy is to do whatever it takes for the safety of Indian citizens in the short and long term. As far as pakistan goes, it has a stark naked state policy of using terror against India. And it is a known fact that an unstable pakistan is less painful for India, which is what should be our immediate aim.

Only after screwing the entire region for good. The USA in its power game has essentially created a permanent mess in South Asia. Started with supporting Pakistan(heck even China) as its bulwark against Russia. Then Afganistan and now sit comfortably still in a far away continent with borders with Mexico and Canada while everyone in South Asia is affected with this menace forever. Freaking funny thing is even today morons at Pentagon, and many Indians as well, tend to think CIA's operation in Afganistan was the greatest thing in the world. | Yeah sure. Whatever :hmmm:

I can see that in the overall scheme of things creating the mujaheddin was no good but once they were there, India was better off with the US (Pak included) fighting the extremist elements than some of them being used to inflict the 'death by a thousand cuts' plan upon India. The taliban may have been a local element, but they surely were sympathizers of LeT/JeM/AQ.

But they completely forgot to understand that once you train somebody with Arms, that too in the name of religion, he is not going to put it down anytime soon. And thats exactly what happened. Russians left, Americans celebrated and mujahideens turned their guns towards putting a sharia govt in the region. When the mujahideens were coming from all over the world to fight for jihaad it was Americans going gaga(you can check it in media representation ranging from Rambo movies to Ken Follett's novels). Suddenly when they turned their guns towards Americans they became terrorists! That too after they created a complete anarchy in Pakistan, Afganistan and also parts of India. xxx

The Soviet war in Afghanistan is another story, ofcourse they are related to each other but i'm sure India prefers Americans & Pakistanis cleaning up some of the mess they created.
