Seriously? What the hell man.. I guess it just goes to show the lack of Sri Lankan games shown over here/the amount of times we've played them..
In these times of Google/Cricinfo, that's a bit hard to swallow. :cantstop: More like you just aren't that interested in Lankan cricket - and nothing wrong with that :--D

no i'm saying Sanga is a better WK batsman across all formats' date='tests included.[/quote'] You are making no sense - Sanga doesn't even keep in Tests so how can he be called the best across all formats? Even someone like Kamran Akmal as bad as he is actually plays all forms of the game.

how does his not keeping in tests matter,we know how well he keeps dont we?its not like where u need different technique for tests.keeping is same across all formats, isnt it

You need more stamina to be the captain' date=' the wicket keeper, and a very very good batsman (ranked #2 in the world presently in one of the formats). But I wouldn't expect you to know.[/quote'] well captaincy doesnt come into equation, the thread is about batsman keepers. Sanga left keeping in tests coz he could make the team as a pure batsman.it wasn't as if he s bad keeper or he couldnt take the strain. u need stamia to be a keeper batsman n Sanga has that.hes done well with the bat in all forms of the game.averages 55 n is one of SL's main player. Dhoni on the other hand still has to prove himself in different conditions in test cricket Dhoni sure has a distinct edge wen it comes to ODI batsman in the world.but then again Sanga has played some crucial innings in WCs WC 2007 finals n T20 WC finals whereas Dhoni has disappointed in ICC tournaments.

No he left wicket keeping precisely because it was too much for him. Why does he still keep in ODIs then? If he can make it to the team as a sole batsman in tests, then surely he can do the same in ODIs as well. And um, how many chances has Sangakkara had as opposed to MSD in ICC tournaments? And that average of 55 is bloated. He averages 73 without keeping and 40 with keeping. On the other hand, MSD is the captain and keeper-batsman in all forms of the game, and is a reliable wicket keeper and a reliable batsman in Tests and ODIs.

because there is a better keeper available in Jayawardene whos playing as a specialist keeper.but since his batting wasn't too great he couldnt make the ODI side n hence Sanga had to keep

In the recent tets series vs Pakistan, Prasanna was injured. I think it was Sanga's first test as a captain, Sanga asked Dilshan to keep which in my view was outrageous. Clealy shows that Sanga isn't prepared to keep in tests anymore. In fact if I am not wrong, Lanka normally pick a reserve keeper besides Prasanna for every tour. It could either be because Sanga isnt ready to keep even when Prasanna isn't available or the lankan management doesnt want to risk an injury to Sanga who is their best test batsman.
