Bangladesh Cricket Board spokesperson Jalal Yunus told bdnews24.com the young cricketer cited "personal reasons" in the letter to the chairman of BCB's operations committee. "The letter has not been accepted yet", Yunus said. "We are trying to persuade him to withdraw the resignation letter and continue with cricket for the country's sake," said the BCB official. Cricket board chairman AHM Mostofa Kamal is out of the country at present. "On his return, he will try to talk Raqibul into continuing with his cricketing career," said Yunus, chairman of the board's media committee. The batman's elder brother, Shafiqul Islam, told bdnews24.com that Raqibul had suddenly announced to the family at around midday, "I'm not capable of playing cricket. I won't play cricket anymore." He is either got serious mental / psycological issues or he is just got an ego bigger than KP to quit all forms of cricket at 22 because he was dropped. What a ****ing cry baby. With a first class average of 30 odd, he expects to be ahead of the pack; go ****ing crying me a river. BCB should not follow PCB's suit and pamper their players. You gotto love when complete strangers with no knowledge of what is happening in Hasan's personal life sit in the comforts of their home and second guess the reasons that made him take this decision. Yet, he's been adorned with adjectives like 'crazy... loser.. ****ing cry baby.. chewtiy@..' etc. The irony is, at 22, this guy has already to play international cricket for his country. I wonder how many of the guys here can lay claim to such an achievement..:giggle: Cut the guy some slack, no one really knows the circumstances of why this happened. It might very well be that this was a poor decision taken in haste, but on the other hand, there might other genuine personal reasons.

"we tried to make him understand" comment should tell you that he got pissed off for not getting selected despite his 100 & 50 against a third grade English attack. Just like the above fan who admits he doesn't have thick skin none of the Bangladesh players have thick skin. You want their wicket. Just throw around few words. They will eventually fold. Sakeb, Tamim, Sohdat, Mashrafe are all like that. I heard Mashrafe left the team because he had a tiff with Sakeb. This short tempered nature will never get them anywhere. You gotta cop the heat, cop the criticism.
