its been a very bad year for Ponting ... 1. The Gap is becomming more like a crater 2. The Runs have dried up 3. The wins have dried up 4. Could not win a series even against the Pakis :hehe: 5. The Average has dropped below 54 for the first time since Nov'04 which was almost at the half way mark of his career as of now. 6. Injuries 7. Is most definitely going to not gain the Ashes as Eng will retain them if they win the current MCG test 8. Unless he wins the SCG test he will most likely lose the series as well becomming the only captain to lose a Ashes series at home in more than 20 years. 9. Could not win a single Test in India as a captain. 10. Got fined for dissent :punter:
lol....Point 4 hits hard. How long before they go down to no6 on the test rankings?

Selectors would now think about next ashes, so they would like to build the team from now..Ponting is only motivation is to play next Ashes in England and win once there, thats what he has been saying. He still can win the next test, draw the series...you never know he may retain his captaincy.

I think he will retain the captaincy but thats only because there does'nt seem to be any viable alternative for the post right now. As for overtaking Goddy, frankly speaking, Punter does not have even 0% chance of doing that now.

Is this thread about tracking the gap or trolling against Ponting? :P Appears as if some folks can't digest anyone being as good as Tendulkar :giggle:

what is your problem rett?? this thread was always about run difference between the two...and SRT has left him behind. Right now ponting is on verge of getting dropped.

There is no need for tracking the difference unless someone feels that he needs to do that to show that Tendulkar is better :P Also the guy with more tests under his belt should have more runs, no?

the "guy with more tests under his belt" has played 29 innings more than Ponting in Test cricket and has made 2169 runs more than him. So if Ponting can make than many runs in the next 29 innings then I will agree that the "guy with more tests under his belt" has made more runs only because of playing more matches :--D

well check the date when thread was started.. Ponting was in red hot form, Tendulkar was Endulkar LOL...thats the motivation of that thread...if you don't like this thread, please stay away...this thread is dedicated to brilliance of tendulkar... anyways its difficult to explain someone who thinks Ponting is as good as SRT

I have decided to debate for Ponting (even though I don't like him) so if you don't like it then .... PS it is nice to know that Tendulkar was Endulkar in March of 2010 :giggle:
