I think that 200 had a big role to play in the way Sachin is playing in this year's IPL. I am not talking about the number 200 but the approach that got him 200. Tendulkar in the post match ceremony mentioned that he had evaluated the Rajkot pitch very early in his innings and had asked sehwag to work with the gaps by using the pace as the ground was lightning quick and had shorter boundaries. He is using the same approach in this year's IPL which is paying high dividends. In one of the games in IPL (earlier stage) SRT had mentioned that instead of being himself he was trying to play agricultural shots to fetch runs at a faster pace but once he realized it was not getting him anywhere he came back to the strategy he had used for the epic innings. It's the psychological effect that has played a key role in SRT's ominous form in this year IPL edition. This format is not that easy as it looks (if you play the old conventional way) but SRT is making it look ridiculously easy and straightforward.

Sachin was always an aggressive batsman in the shorter form of the game so its hardly a surprise that he's doing well in t20s. Even in the t20 charity match that he played in England many years back, he did really well. However, he is in really good form here for some time now. Many players forget that with the fast outfields, players and especially an opener with the field restrictions early on just has to pierce the gaps and its goes for a four. Placement and using the bowler's pace has been the key and also if you notice he gets into position very early and does not commit to his shots. Opposition teams should try to make him drive often if they are looking to get him out early. He quickly gets inside the line of the ball and just works it off his pads against bowlers trying to bowl straight.

Kallis just played a painstaking innings of 27 and borrowed the cap back from Sachin, but in the process has drowned his team in the chase against the deccans...... Sachin would need less than 20 runs to get back the cap i think

Yup Kallis ****ed up bad. On a big ground like this he left the rest of the batting with too much hitting to do. But RCB lost too many wickets to poor shot selection
