have u guys seen the toss in IPL.. when the captain tosses the coin, the match referee picks up and says head or tails.. i find it unusuall.. usually the say if its head r tails before pickingup... but in ipl.. its the match referee's call.. i found it a bit unusual... maybe modi decides who wins the toss??? $0.02

anyone with a decent set of eyes can tell the outcome most of the times by standing couple of feet away. If the betting and all the other junk is true wouldnt you think wooden spooners like KXPI and KKR would blow the whistle? It would definitely impact their brand value and streams of revenue no matter how much Modi would have bribed them.

Modi's exit foregone conclusion: BCCI sources

Lalit Modi's [ Images ] days as the IPL Commissioner appear to be numbered as the BCCI's top brass has more or less made up its mind to remove the high-flying administrator who has triggered a political storm and brought the BCCI under the Income Tax scanner. The stand against Modi has hardened over the last few days as the rapidly-developing events surrounding Kochi franchise's stakeholding pattern has opened a pandora's box about financial irregularities in the IPL. Modi himself is under fire for allegedly helping his family and friends buy stakes in various IPL teams. His tweets about Kochi's shareholding created a political storm as it emerged that Minister of State for External Affair Shashi Tharoor's [ Images ] close friend Sunanda Pushkar had sweat equity worth Rs 70 crore. Tharoor had to resign, while Pushkar also gave up her stake in Kochi franchise. "Modi's exit is a foregone conclusion. The BCCI members are extremely unhappy in the manner in which he brought about this controversy," a top BCCI source informed. "Never in the history of BCCI has the Income Tax sleuths raided the offices. It has not only tarnished the image of the Board but has also sullied the IPL brand," the source said. Support for the beleaguered Modi, who is in Dubai [ Images ] to attend an ICC [ Images ] Executive Board meeting, appears to be dwindling within the BCCI. Though heavyweight Sharad Pawar [ Images ] is said to be backing Modi, none of the other bigwigs seem to be in the mood to defend him this time around. Tharoor's resignation from the government has also led to intense speculation that the centre would target Modi now and the BCCI does not want to be caught in the cross-fire. BCCI spokesman Rajiv Shukla, however, maintains that the issue will be discussed and reports of Modi being downsized are a mere media speculation. "All the allegations (against Modi) and other issues would be discussed in the Governing Council meeting. "BCCI Working Committee meeting has been postponed to May 2 because all things have to be discussed in the Governing Council meeting first. There is no point in having a Working Committee meeting before that," added the BCCI Media and Finance Committee chairman. The Governing Council meeting is expected to be held on April 26, a day after the final of the IPL. No date has yet been officially announced. Modi detractors have already prepared the groundwork to ease him out of the Commissioner's post. There has also been talk of passing a resolution in the council meeting to remove him but no confirmation could be obtained. © Copyright 2010 PTI. All rights reserved. He doesn't need to do anything during the match to have parts of it fixed. If he wanted, these things could easily be discussed beforehand If he was to do it, he's not stupid that he would do it in full view of everyone Supposedly he's tweeting all day long, (and yes there is evidence of a lot of tweets) but he could be texting/emailing too anyways till there is no concrete evidence, its just all speculation

Lalit Modi said that he will initiate appropriate legal action against such defamatory and malicious campaign against him by a motivated section of media.
Does anyone seriously believe that Modi will risk it ? He evades direct questions all the time. What fun it would be if gets on the witness stand.

He does have a point. Our loud mouth media loves to suck money at whatever cost. Its about time somebody stood up and took them to court and set the record straight.

The article said that IT department had got hold of his email address and phone numbers and have been tracking those for 6 months .. so I think it would be clear from that itself what are allegations and what are truth .. he is a techie person and must have done a lot of deals through email and phone and if it was tracked for the last 6 months including IPL then it would be clear But I agree that whole games could not have been fixed for sure because it would involve too many people and too much risks

yes it is not sure it seems .. you are right that media is saying sources.. anyways the media creates a lot of masala and will need to wait for any confirmation from govt. anyways I dont think anybody would do much now .. frankly speaking all the 3 major political parties involved in this controversy NCP, Congress and BJP will find it difficult to remain unstained if there is any truth in all the allegations .. it is but natural that if there was anything shady going on in IPL then it must have gone with political leaders being in the fray .. Sharad Pawar, Narendra Modi and Shashi Tharoor are all directly or indirectly related to this controversy and I doubt anybody now will be willing to go too far as this might bring disrepute to all three political parties .. after the Congress-BJP mudslinging in the last few days now Laloo and Mulayam Singh are starting to make hue and cry because they know they are anyways safe if anything is exposed :giggle: ... I dont think govt. or main opposition would push much forward because now it might turn into trap for them

Indian Politics is all I have to say. When the likes of Lalu, Mulayam say IPL should be banned, it clearly shows that we are on the right track and it is because these people do not receive anything, they think it should be banned. And they say IPL should be banned due to gambling but what about when the delhi government itself promotes alcohol distribution in malls to earn more money for commonwealth games.
