Bangalore captain Anil Kumble admitted his side had lost focus following the explosion and resulting delay at the start of their IPL match against Mumbai. The start of the match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore was delayed by more than an hour due to what police called a "low intensity" explosion just outside the stadium. Five people were injured in the blast, but the situation was soon brought under control and permission was granted for the match to go ahead. Bangalore won the toss, but strong batting from makeshift opener Ryan McLaren (40), Ambati Rayudu (46) and Jean-Paul Duminy (42 not out) powered Mumbai to a massive 191 for four. Bangalore, in reply, managed a meek 134 for nine and the massive 57-run defeat saw their net run rate plunge from a healthy 0.467 to 0.219. "We were warming up when we heard a loud noise and we immediately realised it was something like an explosion," Kumble said. "We were then informed by the organisers that we needed to be careful and were asked to return to the dressing room. "We were told a check of the premises was being conducted and were eventually given assurances that everything was fine. "It did hamper our preparations, but I guess it was the same for both the teams." Kumble brushed aside suggestions some of his overseas players had refused to take the field following the incident. "Coming from Bangalore, my home city, I had a chat with the players just to reassure them," Kumble said. "I did not have much of a problem convincing them to play." Kumble admitted his team was outplayed by Mumbai. "We were outplayed in all the three departments," he said. "We started off well in the first six overs and obviously the dropped catches didn't help our cause," he said. "We gave away 20-25 runs in extras on the field itself and we could have certainly batted better. "The plan was to win which would have ensured that we progress to the semi-final. "We didn't think about net run rate at first, but we hoped to get to at least 160 and even that didn't happen. "A spot in the semi-final means we go through because of what we had done in the initial 13 games," he said.

You guys are amazing, it's easy to call him lame.. So all of u are reading IPL forum and must have read the Pitersen one - http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=218105 U guys can judge the confusion, he also had to convince his team - so with such an uncomfortable mindset, what is so wrong in his statement? Cmon, grow up
AK seems to be using this as an excuse...there was another team playing as well...they didn't seem to be too affected.

Did they have an issue like Pietersen? or other Saffie players Did u even read the LINK?

MI have 2 Saffie players...Ryan Mclaren and Duminy...even if they were worried...they kept a lid on it...MI dealt with the situation better...they had one thing on their mind and that was to win...no matter what.
