If this is the morality that prevails among the literati, what hope is there for the plebeian on the street?

Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif AFAIK, it was a technicality, a pedantic goof-up by the PCB in its literature which allowed the two cheats to get away. the tribunal in no way did condone the actual act committed by the duo. Re: Ban Revoked for Dopey Shoby and Asif overturning the suspension on a technicality is going too far, IMO. there is no punishment whatsoever. The original sentence was a tad too harsh, but i see no reason why at least a Saffie series ban for Asif and a ban till world cup for actor (as a repeat offender) couldn't have been instituted. Even in proven "exceptional cases" (like the duo are subscribing to) in the NFL, at least quarter to a half season of the player involved is lost. Example: Sean Merriman of the Chargers. and ICC is supposed to have even more stringent anti-doping standards than the NFL!! :duh: This is bordering on comical, if it werent so serious. I said that they would be banned for 4/6 months (this bit I was wrong) & return to play for Pak in WC07. Utterly humiliating for Pak but they are used to it. So they didn't take drugs & are whiter than white. :wall:

After reading the report it can be seen that there were so many flaws in the way they handled the case that any half decent lawyer would have been able to shred them in to pieces! Now they have made not only made fool out of themselves but have also tarnished the reputation of the country! Now having said all of that i feel that WADA should do a thorough search on nandrolone because there have been far too many iffy cases in recent years.

Are we really supposed to be taken aback by this ? The PCB scumbags obviously succumbed to the pressure' date=' and this was always on the cards. What do you expect from a [b']sh*thole of a nation like pakistani-land, where clearly justice and laws arent worth the paper they are written on. We have seen cricketers like Akram let off for match-fixing in the past, exonerated of all charges without any thorough investigation. This shouldn't come as a surprise at all. The ICC themselves are no better - sitting back and watching these farcical events unfold. Now Chappell and Dravid should hire a top class chemist and get themselves a head-start while they still can... :roll:
