Alrite this what I understood from the movie... Donnie Darko is a troubled young guy who suffers from some psychiatric disorder. One night he walks in his sleep and meets some six foot bunny named Frank who says that the world would come to an end in 28days. While he is out, an engine from a plane breaks free and destroys Donnie's room. The following day Donnie's father nearly runs over the Grandma Death (an old woman in the neighborhood). The old lady utters something to Donnie, I don't remember the exact words but it forces DD to believe that there is no meaning in life. Then Frank appears in hallucinations asking him to do stuff and DD does as he says. In the midst of all this, DD meets the love of his life. Then one day Frank says about time travel, from then on DD sees things before hand. There are other casts in the movie like Eng teacher (Drew Barrymore), science teacher who introduces a book written by Grandma Death some 80yrs ago, and the moral teacher, Patrick Swayze as the moral instructor who turns out to be a producer of child pron movie. DD and Gretchen love affair blossoms but a couple of their class mates hate that.Alrite to the climax now... 28days pass and on Oct30 with some five hours to go, DD and his friends, Gretchen go to Grandma Death's house. There DD is confronted by his high school mates. In the fight Gretchen is thrown aside and a car runs over Gretchen.(I forgot to mention DD takes with him his father's pistol while coming to GD's house). Out steps from the car, Frank wearing the bunny mask (it's Halloween time). Convinced he is the one DD sees in the hallucination, DD shoots him. After all this, DD sees the flight carrying his mom, youngest sister and their crew of dancers, crash. Now the time is reset to 28 days earlier. This time DD chooses to stay in his bed and dies to avoid all the harm he would have caused if not. Have I understood it right..:nervous:

When the propeller in the last scene enters another parallel universe isn't that like the third parallel universe? Sorry I didn't get your final question. There are other ways to meet Gretchen than vandalizing the school. What was the purpose of such extreme tasks. What difference would it make on who is on the plane when at the end its the engine that has to get sucked into the parallel universe? My last question was, all this was happening in the parallel universe, right? Now when the engine got sucked into the time portal did it go back to the actual universe or another parallel universe?
