Found it resembled Godfather more than it resembled Mahabharat. 1.The concept of attack on the father and the seemingly naive son taking mantle and taking revenge is actually inspired from GF. 2. The character of Ranbeer Kapoor is inspired heavily by Pacino's character in GF. 3. The way Ranbeer had a GF a broad and a naive bubbly girl back home aspiring to marry him is not from God Father, but from Sarkar, though the concept takes a new turn here onwards. 4. The attack on Ranbeer's father, the scene at the hospital where a senior police officer creates trouble putting the elder brother behind the bars is straight out of GF. Thats where the younger son gets the inspiration to stay back and take revenge- again God Father. 5. The scene where a man wakes up with his blanket full of blood and his gay lover's dead body with his throat sliced wide open next to him is picked straight out of God Father. Only difference is that in GF it was a horse. 6. The scene where Arjun Rampal notices the driver run away on a bike and suspects he planted a bomb and the subsequent bomb blast is again straight out of God Father. It looked like a badly done mix of GF and Mahabharat. A few characters were taken from Mahabharat, but the characters looked far degraded. Performances from Arjun, katrina and the mother were bad. Some of the key scenes in the second half looked bad and tasteless. I would call it a better than average movie. 6/10.

I havent seen Robin Hood yet, but I think Russell Crowe is a little too old for the role?
youngindia Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 for fans of "departed" ,watch the hong kong original "infernal affairs" 1, 2 and 3. its a must see. the english movie had a huge chunk of 1 with a minor climax added(with wahlberg taking care of damon).but the hong kong movies had the present(part 1), a prequel(part 2), a sequel(part 3). "but I think Russell Crowe is a little too old for the role?" atleast he was not playing a college student! i think he is ok. but there was very little of archery and thieving ,robin hood's prime skill and more of politics and war(between england and france), which was weird.

veer Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Rajneeti.. i liked it cuz it was different and had good actors.. but lot of things were taken from other movies like domaink mentioned.. if the movie has taken five years to make it.. someone should have made efforts to make it more original.. but I liked ranbeer's acting the most... and good to see Kat making an effort to get in this role.. mom's character looked out of place
youngindia Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 based on the tamil version, visually stunning but one time watch. nothing exceptional or exciting about the story. there were superficial but revisionist touches to a epic. i am just sick of these so called remakes and re intrepretations. the film directors are only capable of making drama out of these works and just stick to attempt gripping the audience. but there is no character to root for. there is a violent outlaw with around 60 cases against him.we don't know his crimes. but despite the film's attempt to protray him on the wronged side,its just not convincing. what's so good about his ideology vs the bit amoral police officer? the script fails here. i was just reduced to viewing events unfold in a detached manner. and no exciting turn of events . no memorable dialogue delivery. time passed .nothing felt great.i was not cursing it either.
