ZOMGESHWARA, this movie rox!
graphic23 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Yep. Atleast thats what I've heard, coz I never saw the English version. Actually, apart from how the lead character looks, there aren't many similarities. I thought Surya had to enact a variety of emotions that Guy Pearce didn't have to. Plus, I liked the music :P

Isn't that what I said? I said there aren't similarities. I just came back from watching it. Its a bit on the slower side in the middle of the movie but I thought it was a very good one. The climax is better than the original one with Surya. I enjoyed it. Music and BGM was also awesome - thanks to Rahman.:yay:
varun Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Ghajini was too loud IMO. Might as well have called it Gayjini for the way they dressed Amir in the flashbacks. And yeah slumdog millionaire rox
Rajiv Posted December 27, 2008 Author Posted December 27, 2008 Slumdog - awesome - but kinda felt bad for the slum kids Going to watch gajini - should I?
graphic23 Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Slumdog - awesome - but kinda felt bad for the slum kids Going to watch gajini - should I? Your $10. But personally speaking, I thought it was a well made film. He is shown as a bit of a superhero but it does have a good plot and excellent performances by the cast. Varun, all c/o Van Heusen with the wardrobe in the flashbacks - a couple of the suits he wore were very good. I think the 'gay' look comes from him trying to be a bit more normal.
ludhianvi Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Watched Slumdog Millionaire.... THOROUGHLY enjoyed it.... Great movie....Brilliant :finger::finger::finger::finger: :((:(( lol, what happened here?
suraj Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Slumdog - awesome - but kinda felt bad for the slum kids Going to watch gajini - should I? Good but nowhere close to great, almost rises to good heights but stops short disappointing you because the director gets distracted into putting masala of every kind also too loooooooooooooong drawn- never understand why Indian movies want to test the attention span of the audience by making longer & longer movies instead of tight, taut ones. Should not have been more than 2hrs 15 mins but drags on fo rmore than 3hrs
Rajiv Posted December 27, 2008 Author Posted December 27, 2008 I downloaded it, theatre kaun jayega is snow mein..lekin I have like 7 movies lined up..gajini ko time dena chaiya
Guest Hiten. Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Watched 30 mins of Ghajini. And I can say they have effed up this movie completely. Its surely 'inspired' by Memento and is no where close to it when it comes to direction. Aamir is our only hope in Indian film industry. If he starts working in these kind of nonsense, then god save us.
Kartikey Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Saw Ghajini. Not a typical Aamir Khan film but it was very entertaining. Aamir was simply awesome, Asin was also good, didnt lke the villian too much. 3.5/5
nospam Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 ghajini - 1/5 - story had many faults also except one song(jiah khan), rest songs were in dreams... there was no need for songs in this movie, lol at the climax - rajnikanthaz style fighting in the end I would recommend you guys watching Memento than watching Ghajini.
King Tendulkar Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Ghajini was really good. No idea why its getting slammed here. Some of you guys are hypercritical Go see it. Very entertaining and well made.
flamy Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Banchikwang [The Foul King] - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0261552/ This movie TOTALLY rocks! I peed mysef laughing :D
cybervickey Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 slumdog is an awseome awesome movie... i think i m gonna watch it again !! ghajini is nice but i was expecting something better from amir.. this one is a total masala like dhoom 2 or something !
youngindia Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 first about memento, the fact is thereare no nolans in either bollywood or the regional scene. let's leave it at that. no point talking about things that are not going to happen for the forseeable future atleast. my comments are relative to desi standards. compared to many of the other junk dished out, this isone of the better commercial films i don't feel i am being insulted as a viewer.it is breezy and very entertaining. i was occupied for the three hours because i could hook into the central theme of the plot. aamir has done all the hard work. but its not a classic that will absorb me for long after watching as memento did. but rarely any indian movie does.(kamal's anbe sivam(tamil) was the last one with vettaiyadu villayadu close by)

And then, there is Anurag Kashyap, if you want some real quality - Kaun still remains the best thriller I have seen and original Aamir is great too.

And then, there is Anurag Kashyap, if you want some real quality - Kaun still remains the best thriller I have seen and original Aamir is great too. True. But Ghajini wasn't intended for anything other than entertainment and I thought it achieved it at a high level. As much as I regret saying this, this is Aamir's "Om Shanti Om" moment, I'd feel. In fact, this is a much much better attempt at commercial filmmaking than Om Shanti Om.
