Come on guys do we have to carry IPL affiliation into this. Its okay if it is just for fun. They picked the right players. Changing one or two players would not have changed the result of today's match. We sound like padosis now. Entire team had to adopt a completely different approach while chasing. Entire team needs to be blamed bar Rohit Sharma and Bhajji.
listen to the dawg..

If they still dont learn how to tackle short deliveries, I say make them wear one of these instead of their fancy nike shoes. :hitler: highheel.jpg

I remember Ganguly practicing hard against short pitched bowling...even though he didn't master the pull and hook shot...he used to get out of the way or play it off his ribs quite easily. I remember him practicing against wet tennis balls...maybe some of our current batters can d the same.

Lets be honest here, it was embarrassing to see our batsmen play the short pitch stuff last night. Full credit to the Ozzie bowlers who pummeled India's batting in the submission. Lets not hide behind the fact that we were overawed by the large total, 185 is not 225 for heaven's sake! This happened last year, its happening again..this batting lineup is inept at handling short pitch stuff on pacy pitches.

We only look poor against short ball in 20/20s in certain games. As when chasing massive totals against an unbelivable pace attack like today, we have to take on 90 mph bouncers with hook and pull. Evey other team would look awful in such a situation. If we put 200 on the board and had their pace atttack I guarantee aussies would have looked pathetic as well? We have no such probs in odis and tests , as can just duck it and wait for next ball a shave time on our side. We have no wekaness against short ball!
This post should captioned: Self denial :haha: I'm pretty sure the Aussies would have murdered the short pitched bowling, I mean get real Aussies have murdered the English on so many occasions. The Kiwis just recently destroyed Australia's short pitched bowling by Bollinger&Tait, oh wait why? Oh that's right because they can play the pull/hook shot.

Perhaps this is why none of the batsman of your team average 50 outside flat tracks of Australia :haha::hysterical::giggle:

Apart from the fact that that statement is completely false in many levels, what does it have anything to do with facing short pitched deliveries?

Apart from the fact that that statement is completely false in many levels' date=' what does it have anything to do with facing short pitched deliveries?[/quote'] Why is it false? How much Ponting, Hussey and Hayden averaged outside OZ? And if facing short pitched deliveries was so much difficult then career of Indian batsman in test would have ended like Philip Hughes and Miachel Beven ? And this is how to play short ball [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BANUN31y2zY]YouTube- Sachin Tendulkar upper cuts Brett Lee[/ame]

1- What does the average of P, H&H have anything to do with short pitched bowling? 2- Hughes got 2 centuries in Durban. 3- That is not how you play short pitched bowling, well unless you're Sachin Tendulkar.

When purists talk about playing the short ball...they usually mean hook and pull shots. And our young crop suck at it with the exception of Dhoni....and from yesterday even Nohit has put himself forward as a case of exception

The only reason India is being exposed on short-pitch bowling because there is no Sehwag. And as a result we don't have any attacking opener . So our players have to take unnecessary risk. And btw how are Warner and Watson against spin? :--D

Vijay looked exceptional with the Pull shot in the IPL.

They were trying to force the pace on 150 kmph bowling instead of waiting for bad balls. If India had batted first we could have easily scored 170-180. We suck while chasing

IPL pitches are hardly the bench mark for handling shortballs(it just stood-up to be hit after pitching..lost its pace, which's why Nannes and Steyn relaxed and bowled a yard slower).. we need pitches like Barbados where batsmen had the ball whizzing past their face to see the real mettle. Vijay looked like a fish out of water (to attack on such a pitch although I do think he has a great technque for weathering it out in a test)

I think he just needs to get the confidence playing at International T20. Rohit Sharma on the other hand played horribly in this match, was so lucky playing and missing like 10 balls, but good on him for pulling himself together when Smith came on.
