Vijay is here in the absence of Gambhir, Veeru, Sachin. So he has to make the most of whatever he gets. He cannot wait for 40 opportunities to prove himself. Not gonna happen. Looking at his approach in ODIs he doesn't look like finding a place in world cup squad.

I am looking for people who can play all 3 format of the games in the future esp with the retirement of Sachin,Dravid and Laxman looming around. Vijay, Nohit and Kholi fit the bill but it all comes down to how they perform in the chances given to them. Vijay has to be given atleast half the leeway shown to the others which would be something around 20 innings. He has a couple of good innings in test and a few in IPL, so its not like he hasnt done anything. He has played just 3 ODI innings and its too early to jump on his back.

Karthik hasn't got the consistensy requierd coz he plays the floater role. I think he has to settle down for a position and concentrate on that instead of batting all over the line up.

The problem with both DK and Vijay has been the complete lack of aggression during the power play overs. But 2 matches is too small a sample to write them off. Both have got starts and then got out. Perhaps next game will be the final chance both of them (or perhaps Vijay) will get in this series.

Karthik has many more chances to prove and he hardly has. But Vijay just had 2 fkinf games and he played positively till he got out in the last game...Why the fk wd anyone decide the fate of a player by just 2 innings? Vijay showed what he can do in IPL. give him dozen more chances.

He did well in IPL and hence played 5 games on the trot in the t20 WC. Did well in the first one, failed miserably in the rest 4. And now the twin failures here. Makes it 6 international failures on the trot which is a huge worry.The likes of Yuvi, Rohit, Raina, Kohli all made an early impression by playing a few good knocks in their first 10-12 international games. For Vijay it has been one knock vs Afghanistan so far and 4 failures after that. So in a sense if he fails in the next game, they will be forced to pick someone else in his place. As for DK, well barring last 2 ODIs, whenever he has played, he has done reasonably well. IIRC got a 50 and a couple of 40s in last few odis he played. Plus because he is a keeper, will tend to get more chances despite failures. Also the fact that he is a floater will always ensure he has a place in the 15 on most occassions.

Wild Suggestion Open with Jadeja and VJ, and send KK at number 6, he is great improviser and runner between the wicket, will do better in middle order

KKD won't get the boot as he played well enough to add 193 runs with Sachin not long ago against SA. Vijay has to start worrying as Kohli has been consistent averaging 50 plus. So he is a dead cert for world cup squad. Rohit is also cementing his place.
