Sacking Gary Kirsten for T20 WC will be ridiculous. T20 is a joke and a lottery. We will see how indian team performs in Asia Cup and the upcoming test series. Gary Kirsten is a good coach who likes to maintain a low profile and he should stay with indian team. There should be a gap of atleast 20 days between IPL and T20 WC. This way team can gel together and work on the strategies.

I think number one on the list would Yusuf Pathan ! To be fair to Vijay which you definately aren't this is his first tourney, he has had half decent test performance, one against lanka and a debut test in which he impressed against australia ( though they didn't have the best bowling at that time). Yusuf has been in the team for three years. surving on a domestic reputation, has a talon d'achilles that just about everyone in the world know. If vijay fails by all means kick him out but give him a fair shot he definately has a far superior all round game and first class record than Yusuf who seems to surviving on hot air and bluster he generates i nthe IPL year after year ( barring that double hundred) you are using 3 innings where everyone but Raina and Rohit failed. Can't blame the players. After seeing the reactions on this board it's not difficult to imagine what some so called 'fans' would have said to the players in the pub to instigate a reaction. Ideally, they should have walked away but tempers can rise when provoked. What these 'fans' forget is that despite them having done poorly in the tournament, they are still human beings and for them even though it might be a big loss, they have to move beyond it and get on with life. If unwinding a bit before flying back home does it for some players, who are these 'fans' to question? It's for the BCCI and the selectors to sack the players who are unfit and not performing, not for the 'fans' to play a vigilante role.

Spot on. Just because you lost, it doesn't mean you have to lock yourself in a dark room thinking about how different things could've been. About the report by Gary, I think this is not the first time where he has a scathing remarks about our players' fitness but BCCI has been turning blind over it without giving a hoot or two. I really hope gary does not become a scapegoat in this ego crossfire between the BCCI and Indian players. He has always given an honest assessment pertaining to the Indian cricket.

Yusuf's a better player in the shortest format of the game than Vijay. Vijay has a better technique, I will concede that. But compare his performances to Yusuf's over a 3yr period in the IPL (coz T20 form is considered while picking a team for T20s, not FC or List A form). When he fails with the bat, he does well with the ball. Murali unfortunately isn't an allrounder in this form. Dhoni seems to have a softcorner from Yusuf, but this is the same guy who publicly criticized Yusuf and the selectors for "simply selecting players based on their form in the IPL" when he was picked for the longer formats of the game. In T20s, Yusuf is a far superior player to Vijay. One can't play the short ball, other can't accelerate. I rest my case.
