Clarke is the only real option for the future it seems.. I think he's alright and will get better in time, but yeah him coming in at 3 is not ideal.. My take is Clarke for one day captaincy (in future), White for 20/20 captaincy

Clarke is not really a good ODI player. I think if Cameron White is given a bit of a lengthy run, he can take up captaincy in both formats.

I don't see Clarke being dropped from ODI's though.. And seeing as though he is almost certainly the next Test captain, that means he'l be one day captain as well.. I think the mindset has to change for him. But he would rather prefer being a successful Test batsman than a successful T20 batsman. Even below average crappy player like Salman butt can swing the bat blindly and score a few in t20. So shouldn't be a problem for players like Clarke. Just that it will take a while for him to adjust.

Kudos on the irrelevance. Highlighting "real cricket" does not equate it to test cricket. The T20 WC is an authorised ICC event and is as real as it gets. This thread was about T20 cricket and no one questioned Michael clarke's test stats. Let me ask you the corollary to your position, has any Indian batsman's test performance suffered because of IPL? I think not. Would you be kind enough to pull out Viru's stats after he started playing the IPL? :regular_smile:

Rohit sharma pwned Aussie bowlers on the fast bouncy Barbados wicket. Would that make him the best batsman in the world? Certainly not. You have to take it with a pinch of salt. There is a reason why Warner, Raina are not playing Tests . Probably if Raina were to play for Pakistan he would have been their number 1 Test batsman :cantstop:

then again u are not their manager. so we cant take ur word on it that clarke and mitch are not playing in the ipl to concentrate on their cricket. for all i know they werent really friendly with indian players during the recent matches... so it also might be possible they might want to go into the ipl as champions.
