Umm' date=' it's simple math. You play more you help your board fetch more and in return they pay you more. AFAIK, ICC does not get jack **** from any of the tournaments because they're a mutual agreement between the respective boards. Only time ICC gets to pocket cash is during the ICC events.[/quote'] So the test playing nations will be willing to play pointless T20 series against new found minnows like USA and China just for a tiny increase in revenue? Somehow doubt that.

No my friend. You get these new found minnows to start playing cricket amongst themselves (through t20) and maybe once in a while let the test playing nations play them one or two games to help spread the popularity in that particular country. Once they're get the hang off the game, you allow them to play the longer formats asking them to progress through the ranks in order to be able to play the Top 8.

India havent played WI in tests since 2006. In that time you have found time for 2 test series with Sri Lanka, lets not even get started on the ODI's.

Of course it won't until you stop planning out the stuff on a chalk board and grow a pair to accept that you have to be on the field to be able to do that.

Unlike other sports cricket is not going to grow overnight. You need strong first class structure which is 10 to 15 year process. Otherwise we will create more Bangladesh teams. Most of the teams will have Indain expats, British, Aussie expats who would struggle to find a place in the 1st division team in their respective countries.

You dont see baseball expanding into cricket playing nations.

"Post-retirement, the outspoken Jamaican quit the ICC Cricket Committee, the West Indies board and Allen Stanford's league after falling out with the authorities." Wht an hypocrite ... he was part of stanford league .. and now bad mouthing t20 .. y so sudden change of heart? May be he didn't got any offer for commentary from anywhere :D

He joined the standford legends as stanford provided much needed funs throughout the caribbean. He also quit. And you notice on Sky Sports Holding has never been commentating on any T20 match because he hates it so much, im sure Holding is more desireable commentator than pretty much all of the current ones out there.

Michael Holding didn't watch IPL, didn't watch T20 WC. Still he rates Pollarad "not a cricketer" !
Maybe because he's more than familiar with Pollard in grassroots and domestic cricket in WI?
Posted

I think he has it in personally for pollard. maybe a fight or an argument, maybe pollard refused to marry his daughter, maybe pollard refuses to bowl faster than 50 mph, maybe jealous of pollard's star power. i don't know. If pollard is not a cricketer then what about the dindas, harmeet singhs, asnodkars etc. are they not cricketers too?

i think michael holding is right in some prospective. We have really overhyped t20 format. It is not that popular as we think.t20 worldup was prove of that.70% of matches were played i empty stadium.IPL is only tournament which has been successfully hold.otherwise t20 is just a rubbish form of cricket.Icc should leave t20 cricket for club cricket only.

The old man can not digest the fact that the new lads are making a lot more money than he did! A little too traditional wouldn't you say so Mr. Holding? Try to accept the new formats and the innovations at least when they are proven to be very successful.
