The two killed in the accident have been identified as auto driver Raj Kumar, a resident of Uttam Nagar and Ved Prakash, a resident of Palam. The two injured have been identified as Jeet Singh and Megh Singh, both of them who were also travelling in the auto. They have been admitted to Safdarjung hospital in New Delhi. Police have arrested the accused, Nivedita Singh, and a case under IPC 304(A) has been registered against her. The incident took place at Gopinath Bazar in Delhi Cantonment around 11.30 pm on Saturday. The auto driver, Raj Kumar, was the only earning member in the family. He is survived by 5 children, parents and wife. Though sources claimed that accused Nivedita Singh had consumed alcohol, senior police officials "refused to speculate" saying they were waiting the Medico Legal certificate (MLC) report. ----------- What a sorry tragedy for that family, talking about being at the wrong place and the wrong time. Stupid woman. Should be put behind bars for life.

Unfortunately, it is mostly the poor that fark like crazy without any regards to the future of these kids. If China is one extreme, i.e killing the 2nd offspring, India is the other extreme, letting everyone fark a lot. As it is, India is suffering from over population, a few more decades, we would have no place to fark anymore. Maybe only then, people would reduce reproduction.

Another thing that needs attention here is how unsafe the auto-rickshaws are. They are made without an iota of thought for passenger safety. If you ever sit in one again, feel the roof of the rickshaw right above your head (sitting on the passenger seat) and you will find an iron rod of the frame going across the width. Even the smallest of collision can inflict the worst of head injuries because your head is bound to hit that iron rod. Even if the rickshaw driver fails to notice a speed breaker, you are in great danger. Similarly, the driver also faces great dangers in case of a collision. There is a similar rod passing over his head and there is a chance of him getting thrown out into the open road into the traffic. And needless to say, all rickshaw drivers are careless on the road.
