Are you trying to say that their achievements are actually not so good because they bully tail enders?
Yes Sir,if you are a opening bowler and take more no 7,8,9,10,11 than 1,2,3 then it shows the potency compare with mcgrath ,wasim, ambrose, gillespie stats you see the difference

Im not looking at stats but I would guess those bowlers have also taken out a lot of tail enders. Also you cant really include a number 7 as tail, Matt prior is average 40 and bats at 7.

Steyn should be considered as one of the all time best. He is imo better than Wasim, Waqar,McGrath, Pollok etc. No contemporary bowler comes near to Steyn's average and achievement. But there were a lot of ordinary bowlers who were having good success at the time of Ws, Mcgrath.

The thing that is unique about him is his aggression. I dont know too many other bowlers except Waqar Younis with his class being as aggressive in a very raw sense as he is now. Most of them (McGrath, Walsh, Akram, etc) become 'masters of swing', 'metronomes', etc, etc. Steyn must be the bowler in that group who cares least about accuracy and is in essence, still a raw phast baller.

Btw, I was a big fan of him ever since he took that 5 wicket haul in Sri Lanka back in 3567 BC. Never thought that he would become as good as this!

Guys like steyn and waqar have great averages and strike rates and the reason is their bowling to tailenders. Our indian Fast bowlers have most toporders wickets in there careers and spinners most tailender wickets. Steyn-http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/47492.html?batting_positionmin1=8;batting_positionval1=batting_position;class=1;filter=advanced;orderby=default;template=results;type=bowling;view=dismissal_summary Almost HALF 94 wickets of 204 are of 7-11 this shows why his strike rate and averages are so low

I dont think Roach will be very successful tbh. I'm not saying this based on hindsight or saying that he doesnt have the raw ingredients but he is one of those bowlers who doesnt get a truckload of wickets when hes bowling well (a bit like Flintoff) and doesnt get any fluke wickets like Mitchell Jonhson when he's bowling badly. (wicketability if thats a word) Roach bowls mainly from wide of the crease, moves the ball in rather than away and doesn't bowl a fullish length too often. All of these things mean that he isnt going to take too many wickets even when looking good and bowling well imo. Edit: I'll stick my neck out and say that Darren Sammy will have better numbers on the longer run than Roach.

2 wickets needed for fastest 250 wickets and 4 more to become highest wickets after 48 matches. Such record after playing in all conditions and performing all teams. :hail: Best SR steyn.jpg

Can you please post fastest to 250 till now? Want to see where Marshall. Holding, Botham, Hadlee etc stand? And do post fastest to 300 as well so that we can track Steyn with some interest.
