Where are the Indian fast bowlers?

we are a country of trundlers :whine: Link
No. We are country that loves to make fun of the padosis, instead of investing that time in doing something worthwhile. The mentality is ridiculous. It is this that stops our bowlers from going that extra mile in practice, a few yards more of pace in the match and winning accolades in the pace dept.

we need to get some aussie second string bowlers who have no chance to play in the national squad..fastrack their citizenship and get themt o play for india...lucrative enough deal... they get to play every single IPL season
nice idea :hmmm:

Wrong. Fast bolwing isn't just about height and build - infact has nothing much to do with it. Pankaj Singh,Gony, Kuruvilla,Yohannan are/were all tall well-built bowlers...the pace simply isn't there ( abit harsh on Pankaj Singh). Read up on "fast twitch muscle fibers" - supposed to be the prerequisite for phaasht bowlers.. fast bowlers are born, not made.

] Although having fast twitch muscle fibres would help its not the only thing that makes people bowl fast, I mean if you go by that Usain Bolt must be able to bowl around 120MPH or any other olympic sprinter for that matter.

From 2000-2007 we had good bowlers with a lot of pace coming through the doemstic system. Likes of Zaheer, RPS, Munaf, Sreesanth, Ishant all were around 140+ when they started. Before that Agarkar and Nehra started in 97-98 and had good speeds of around 140+. One commong link was MRF pace academy. ll honed their skills under chief coach T A Sekhar. But post 2007 , no new pacer has come through the ranks who has a decent pace and who call be called a future prospect. The likes of Dinda and Yadav , have got good speeds, but could have done much more if they had gone throguh a rigourous training program at MRF pace academy like many other Indian pacers in the last 10 years. T A sekhar joining IPL and going away from MRF Pace Foundation is hurting us the most now. Would have been great to hire him as our bowling coach. But BCCI always wanted some foren hand. Also BCCI's arrogance of not recognising MRF Pace Foundation and instead forcing the pacers to go to NCA for training purposes is where we seem to be losing it. The idea was to save the players from too much of conflicting advice, but now it seems they aren't getting any advice at all. Bharat Arun the chief bowling coach at NCA hasn't been of much help so far.

Aiyappa played Ranji for Karnataka, Sanklecha for Maharshtra. Not sure about others whether they even played Ranji for their state.

I wasn't 100% sure about Aiyappa. I guess there were murmurs about him and CSK.

Apparently Bolt was a decent enough club level youth fast bowler. More like 120kph it seems though, not 120mph.

Lets face it, we will never unerath a bowler who can bowl at 140-150 kms consistently, instead of wasting time ion searching the pace bowlers, we should concentrate on spinners, we are losing them now..
