Nah. He didn't have a fight with anyone. He was disappointed at umpiring, which was supposedly poor, and took out his frustration on various furniture in the dressing room. Can't say that he was rude towards a team mate or a fan but bad umpiring decision can frustrate anyone!

Being negative & pessimistic comes naturally to most Indians ... usually without us knowing it. Its in our genes. :((
:isalute: Take a bow for being honest

I will be at Grace Road on the 1st of July, should be a large Indian crowd given the location and look forward to seeing the next generation, i remember watching Ishant Sharma yearss before he was part of the first team and thinking this guy has what it takes!

Unfair to Manoj Tiwary? Guy is not an opener. Kohli or Rohit should have stepped up to open. I don't think Tiwary has it in to be in the team long term. But still he needs to be given a chance at his preferred spot.

Why unfair? Didn't Kohli have to open in his debut series? He was replacing an opener and it was logical that he was asked to open. He looked tentative and short of confidence which was surprising. After he effected that briiliant run out, should have been more positive. But nerves got the better of him. can happen to the best of players. Hopefully in the next ODI we will get to see a good innings.

Though I was in favor of Kohli opening as well, can't argue with this - when you're a fringe player, you have to bat wherever you get a chance, which as you say Kohli himself did back in 2008. Will get another chance on Thursday.

Yes Kohli did but he should not have had to. Why not open with Badri and Saha next match then?? Because theyre not openers thats why. He was replacing an opener but it would have made far more sense if a more experienced bat had opened. This is why another opener should have been in the squad but that is a separate issue. He is a middle order batsman and would not have had many times when it is 0/0 and up vs the new ball (if any at all) and he had to do that vs Roach a bowler whos a good 10mph quicxker than any domestic paceman. That was unfair. Bad enough being a newbie in Intl cricket and the pressure that brings, to compound it he had to play out of position- would have made those nerves a little worse.

Because difference of class between Kohli and Tiwary is massive. Because Kohli was an Unknown commodity before he opened for India, no one knew he would fail or succeed as an Opener. Because Manoj Tiwary even failed as an Opener for KKR. Because Kohli played in Sri Lanka and Tiwary in West Indies, where the ball was doing more than what it does in Sri Lanka in the last match.

nothing unfair he is just not ready for international cricket ' date=' not yet[/quote'] He fails as a mid order Bat then you can say he is not ready. He is not even rready to open in IPL. Failed miserably as an Opener.

Kohli was a 18 year old with very little first class experience behind him. Manoj Tiwary has played plenty of first class cricket and therefore should have been better prepared. As for Kohli making his debut in Sri Lanka vs Tiwary in WI, well he made his debut at Dambulla where the ball swings and seams much more than it does in WI these days. Go back to that ODI series and see how Vaas, Kula and Thushara were getting banana swing and plenty of movement on those juicy tracks.

The difference is with Class you cant compare Kohli with Tiwary. And dozens of reasons given above.

^I dont think 'Kohli opened hence Tiwary can open' is a logical argument. The point is Kohli should not have either as he too is not an opener. That was also unfair.

More than class, its temprament and mental preparation. Anyways, Tiwary would/should be more at ease with himself in the next ODI despire playing as an opener.

Unfair? What? The guy is a fringe player, in fact a second choice fringe player. It's up to him to show his abilities wherever and whenever he gets a chance. Or else he can do what Laxman did - refuse to open, sit out of the team, and pile on the runs till the team and selectors are forced to play him at his preferred position.

The competition is strong. He can't afford to be precious about what position he bats. If he gets a chance, he must score. Not only did he not score yesterday, he took a lot of time to not score. Totally unacceptable. These IPL kids don't know how to bat the proper way. It's always cross-batted nonsense with them.

Agreed that Tiwary is a fringe player and beggars can't be chosers but Tiwary deserves to get a game in the middle order. I would like to see Dhawan brought in place of Badri for the last match - it's only fair to Dhawan and Tiwary. Dhawan at least managed one 50 in the 3 games he played whereas Badri hasn't done anything in the 4 games he played. Plus playing Dhawan will allow Tiwary to play in his natural spot - at 4 or 5 in the middle order. It's unfair to Tiwary that he is asked to open coz Badri is selected everytime and hasn't done squat. 4 games + T20 is a decent run and not even one 50+ score is enough for me.
