Graeme Swann- Best spinner in World cricket in all formats right now?

Swann is as overrated as it gets. If a team does not have too many left handed batsmen' date=' they are pretty much safe against him.[/quote'] Very true. Even versus SA, he bowled ok in the beginning to Smith. Lovely turn and drfit.

Last 4 tests, 6/434 for Swann..thats an avg of 73! Hopefully SA do not allow him to comeback in the series. But he was brilliant in SL and bowled reasonably well in UAE vs Pak. So I would not yet write him off against us yet.

He won't do well against us. Our batsmen found him quite easy to play and that is when they were being raped by the seamers :cantstop:

Have we forgotten what he did to us at Oval on a slightly helpful track? Plus the fact that we have lost a home test match to Shaun Udal of all English bowlers.

I haven't. But overall we played him well. Honestly I am not worried about him even in SC. Think about it, a spinner usually thrives when the batting is being destroyed by the fast men, it allows the spinner to exert pressure regardless of the pitch. Yet Swann was a release for most of our players. We play spin very well. Udal was crap but it was just one of those things tbh.

Yes. He will certainly be a threat on these helpful tracks in India and but he is more effective against left handers. If right handers play him, they can blunt him.

He's blunted Murali, Swann shouldn't be a problem at all - he's total cr*p. If he's lucky, he can have the wickets of Ojha if he comes out to bat. Left hander and a tailender and a bunny. Yeap.

What if UV or Raina play, not just lefties, but suck at spin too :yay:
