SachDan Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Injury scare for Sreesanth Colombo: India's already depleted pace attack may further get weakened as a knee inujry on Sunday rendered pacer S Sreesanth doubtful for the first Test against Sri Lanka, starting July 18 at Galle. Sreensanth, asked to lead the pace attack in the absence of Zaheer Khan, has encountered a knee problem and missed Sunday's practice session. Also giving a miss to the session was spin spearhead Harbhajan Singh, who is down with the fever. Sreesanth underwent an MRI scan and result will be known only on Monday, a team source said. Zaheer was ruled out of the Test series due to a shoulder injury and in his absence Sreesanth and lanky Ishant Sharma were to do the duty with the new ball. In case India miss the services of Sreesanth as well, youngsters Jaidev Unadkat, who played with the India A team in England, may fancy his chances. But India are unlikely to go with the three pacemen in the Sri Lankan conditions and Abhimanyu Mithun, replacement of Zaheer, will be first choice to fill in the slot. India are scheduled to play a three-day warm up game against Sri Lanka Board President's XI from Tuesday. link We are fecked up :nervous:
Guest Hiten. Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 So our bowling card would read: IS, Unadkat/Umesh, Bhajji, Mishra = perfect recipe for Mahela scoring 500+ runs in this series :((
mastana Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Perfect opportunity for either Unadkat or Umesh. Lady luck is smiling on them.
cowboysfan Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 how can zak and sree get injured ?they have barely played any cricket in recent times .this is turning into a recipe for disaster.
Guest Hiten. Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Whats new in that? He is on training. Please cooperate. :cantstop: On topic :- Perfect opportunity for either Unadkat or Umesh. Lady luck is smiling on them. Are you a ****ing moron or a simple douchebag ? I have not deleted his comment and neither bothered to check why was it deleted in the first place. You're the main culprit of diverting most of the topics towards nonsense and any post of yours that is deleted has a legit reason behind it, so stop acting as an innocent victim.
Karan114 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 how can zak and sree get injured ?they have barely played any cricket in recent times .this is turning into a recipe for disaster. To be fair, Zak has played a lot of cricket for India over the last couple of years, and is almost 32 - granted he had some time off recently. Sreesanth has no such excuse.
achilles Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I can't believe Abhimanyu Mithun becomes the First Choice replacement after one spectacular season, while Irfan Pathan still can't make it to the squad despite proven abilities as an all-rounder, tremendous experience, something which is missing in the bowling dept in this tour, with the exception of Sreesanth. Its gonna be make or break for Mithun. Jaidev might be in the scheme of things even after this tour.
mastana Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 To be fair' date=' Zak has played a lot of cricket for India over the last couple of years, and is almost 32 - granted he had some time off recently. Sreesanth has no such excuse.[/quote'] Zak shouldn't play in IPL. He is over exhausted.
Clarke Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Reminds me of the tour of Australia, a relatively young RP was the spearhead and the newbie Ishant was his support. Together they did a tremendous job.
achilles Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 :finger: Modi. Waiting for the next episode. Oh btw, 'Looking to play all 16 games'. He gave many such interviews and also defended playing in the IPL. He's anyways too much of a business risk to lose. MI can even play him injurerd like England played Flintoff.
seedhi Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Timesnow ticker: Sreesanth ruled out of SL test series with a shoulder injury. Disaster.
Clarke Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Icant is the spearhead now :yay: maybe we should drop yamraj singh and play 5 bowlers :hmmmm:
Sir john Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 jaydev and ishant looks like pacebowler combination,:giggle:
Texy Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 that's it...we lost the series... we don't have kumble anymore to save our azzes HOW Fking FRAGILE are these bowlers???? they don't get injured dancing in a tv show....wtf?
achilles Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Praveen Kumar/RP Singh/ Irfan Pathan need(s) to be drafted in.
mastana Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Praveen Kumar/RP Singh/ Irfan Pathan need(s) to be drafted in. Praveen Kumar in test matches? :finger: Lagta hai dimaag kharaab ho gaya hai tumhara.
achilles Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Praveen Kumar in test matches? :finger: Lagta hai dimaag kharaab ho gaya hai tumhara. Oh. Why don't you go and join the team then? And do you think Mithun & Unadkat are better bowlers than the 3 I mentioned above? Obviously not.
mastana Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Oh. Why don't you go and join the team then? And do you think Mithun & Unadkat are better bowlers than the 3 I mentioned above? Obviously not. I was only talking about Praveen Kumar. He isn't a test match bowler. Salla 110 ki speed se ball marta hai test match mein kaun seriously lega usko?
achilles Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I was only talking about Praveen Kumar. He isn't a test match bowler. Salla 110 ki speed se ball marta hai test match mein kaun seriously lega usko? Yes. Low on pace. But he's an intelligent bowler who has a fair bit of experience internationally. Experience is the key to beating Sri Lanka in their home, which is why the loss of Sreesanth is going to hurt us. Given that Irfan is out of favour, Munaf is out of form and RP is well, out of the team's plans, PK might be an ideal replacement. I don't think Ish and Mithun can lead us successfully in Sri Lanka, against Sanga and Co. Lets hope an ideal replacement and not a catchment or temporary one is sent.
