Bradman99 Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Bradman - you probably will remember that I have remained consistent in my views :). Whether Australia win or lose, such has been my position. That they are in decline. We have already discussed agreeing that they are not in the West Indies level and likely they may never go that far down. In fact most certainly not. But what are your thoughts on this bowling setup of Australia? That is the one which should cause the most concern. That apart what do you see happening after Ponting and Hussey call it a day. Yeah mate, enjoy reading what you have to say. I think the bowling set up is a little bit inconsistent on the test arena but in the other forms it is the best in the world. I think we lack a spinner of genuine class and don't see us having one for some time (hopefully Smith turns out alright because he will be in the side for a long time). However, the pace bowlers are pretty good I feel. We have Johnson who on form is arguably the best pacer in the world, then there is Bollinger who although is looking out of form right now has something about him, then there is Hilfenhaus and Siddle also who both do a good job. I suppose you could also chuck Harris in there who has done well whenever given the chance, then there is also Watson who can bowl a bit. So I think we go alright bowling wise and they are all of reasonable age and have enough quality to be playing test cricket, I just think we need to find a spinner.
Lord Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 They are criticized for struggling on day 1 pitches, against not so quality spin. Thats fact. They have improved but still they struggle against Spin. n Indians r criticised for struggling against short pitch bowling on pacy n bouncy pitches, not swing Let me ask you a question Which team is the best against Spin bowling as per experts? India Which team struggles most against Swing bowling as per the experts?? Pakistan
The Outsider Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 n Indians r criticised for struggling against short pitch bowling on pacy n bouncy pitches, not swing Despite our stellar record in Australia?
Lord Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Despite our stellar record in Australia? Its ironic, isnt it?perhaps its because we havent done as well in SA.The criticism is really more of the young batsmen than the Fab 4.i guess we can shut up watever doubters there r by doing well in SA wen we go there
