falconhawk Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 For no reason Tendulkar rested. He also rested in Asia Cup (important matches against Pak and SL). T20 World Cup. We need his batting.
Anakin Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 It's a good decision. He shouldn't play the ODIs at all imo.
sreej Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I agree. He needs the rest. Was Gambhir rested because of his injury or are they just giving him a break? I hope Ashwin gets a chance over Jadeja, and Kohli over Rohit Sharma in a few games.
Gas_Gemba Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 If age does does not matter and only mental strength is needed as Sachin said ,I wonder why he is been rested
Zap_Brannigan Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Age doesnt matter for scoring runs, but age does matter for playing meaning less ODI's and straining your body and risking injury.
f.b.m Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 He was afraid to face the phast powerhouse boilers in the Asia cup and is probably scared of the ghosts of Shane Bond and Richard Hadlee to play this series.
Desi Cartman Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Sad thing is that he will be playing Champions trophy but has decided to rest for the tri-series
someone Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Sad thing is that he will be playing Champions trophy but has decided to rest for the tri-series Agree and so completely do not understand why rest? It is hard to be in form but very easy to go out of form when a player plays no cricket.
saneindian Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 What will he gain by playing in a tri series where the Kiwis will be without Vettori, Ryder and Mccullum? In fact Dhoni should also skip some of the matches and if he does that, even then we will still have a strong enough 11 fully capable of winning the cup. Sehwag©, DK, Kohli, Yuvraj, Rohit, Raina, Jadeja, Ashwin, PK, Nehra, Ishant/Mithun Good enough to go all the way.
DomainK Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 No need to stress his body for a meaningless tri-series. Good decision to rest him.
asterix Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 His body needs rest, especially when he will be playing another marathon innings in the last test as other Maharathis like Dravid and VVS are just managing their usual averages to keep the fans in good humour.. So it's good that Sachin is not playing the Tri-series..
Desi Cartman Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 hmmmm no one seems to mind that he will skip tri series but will be available for the Champions league .. I guess blind love for God
mastana Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 hmmmm no one seems to mind that he will skip tri series but will be available for the Champions league .. I guess blind love for God
IKnowU Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 hmmmm no one seems to mind that he will skip tri series but will be available for the Champions league .. I guess blind love for God Come on, MI invested in him and hes the face of :mi: IPL/CL will sooner or later have the same importance as International cricket like it or not. I personally like it, but would rather separate windows for each so that they dont overlap.
imran666 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 i think its a good thing to rest tendu before the importent world cup
Zap_Brannigan Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 The players made a commitment to their IPL franchises to play to the best of their abilities. To India, it is the 2011 WC and to Mumbai Indians, it is the IPL and champions trophy. It would be unprofessional to not to play in the Champions league. Besides i am sure Sachin sees this as a mumbai team rather than a Reliance team.
DomainK Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 hmmmm no one seems to mind that he will skip tri series but will be available for the Champions league .. I guess blind love for God I think he knows best when he needs rest and when he doesn't. Dont forget that he sat out most of IPL1 because he needed rest.
Lord Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 players r retiring these days to play in IPL n Champions League.wats wrong if Sachin rests in this meaningless series n play there.hes 37 ffs
CSK Fan Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 hmmmm no one seems to mind that he will skip tri series but will be available for the Champions league .. I guess blind love for God 20 years of non-stop dedication towards his team and country and he still needs to prove his loyalty to people like you.
