DomainK Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Close call between Dhoni and Sangakkara. Sangakkara is a better test batsman than Dhoni but Dhoni is a better ODI batsman than Sanga. Sanga followed by Dhoni. Boucher' date=' Haddin and McCullum are all good enough and are ahead of Matt Prior. Matt Prior doesn't hold a spot in the ODI team and that is for a reason.[/quote'] Thats unfair given that Sanga actually gave up keeping for batting where other WK batsmen have been playing both roles regularly. I dont Sanga should be considered when we are discussing keeper-batsmen in tests.
Lord Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Now this what I call misuse of stats. Aaare bhai' date=' with this pathetic bowling we have, bowl hardly goes past bat. With world class bowlers, naturally boucher should have more dismissal under his belt. I have hardly seen him so can;t really compare but seen dhoni a lot and can safely say that he doesn';t drop that many.[/quote'] then why does Dravid head the most catches list for fielders?:hmmm: i agree that these stats dont tell the full story, but Boucher is defintely the better keeper.yes Dhoni doesnt drop many, but he hardly takes many tough ones.i 've seen Boucher take some spectacular catches that Dhoni can only dream of
mnmaria20 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 your comments about dhoni not true. He is a excellent batsman not a well wicket keeper, like sangakara. My fevers will be go to the sangakara because he play and make the centries and keeping with excellent and fresh mind.

Shine Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Kumar Sangakkara for sure..Despite of his past keeping records,he's now the 3rd best wicket in cricket
dial_100 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 then why does Dravid head the most catches list for fielders?:hmmm: i agree that these stats dont tell the full story, but Boucher is defintely the better keeper.yes Dhoni doesnt drop many, but he hardly takes many tough ones.i 've seen Boucher take some spectacular catches that Dhoni can only dream of Man!! the phast bowlers get more edges, the fine ones, because of the pace and line that batmen cant judge it properly and play it early or too late, inducing a faint cut. So why even compare with someone who has fielded most of his career in sleep cordon.
dial_100 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 I am certainly not arguing that Dhoni is better than Boucher. All I am saying is stats doesn't tell how many opportunities that Dhoni gets and how many he latches on to.
Lord Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Man!! the phast bowlers get more edges' date=' the fine ones, because of the pace and line that batmen cant judge it properly and play it early or too late, inducing a faint cut. ZodiaC Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Khatmal Denesh Ramdin Parthiv Patel :two_thumbs_up:

[/quote'] This was in fav of Boucher that he certainly would get more chances because of bolwers in SA team. So why even compare with someone who has fielded most of his career in sleep cordon. no point comparing him with Dravid.
Lord Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 This was in fav of Boucher that he certainly would get more chances because of bolwers in SA team. that should work both ways.if Boucher gets more opportunities than Dhoni, then somebody like Kalllis should also get more chances coz of better bowlers,no? no point comparing him with Dravid. i'm not comparing.i'm saying how the same bowlers induce soi many opportinities to Dravid, but not Dhoni
don_corleone840 Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 "boucher" You Got To Be Kidding.he Is No Where Near Dhoni Or Even Prior.he Is Awful Batsman In Test Format And Below Average In Odis.Dhoni is greatest wk batsman of all time in odis.In test, andy flower can be considered.
Zelig Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 One thing about Boucher...the guy sucks against quality spin. No wonder, he's amongst the top five batsmen Murali has dismissed the most. There was this ROW v Australia game in Sydney, 2005. He was keeping against Murali and Vettori and he was abs' pathetic. IIRC he cudn even pick the arm balls of Dan and whenever he misread Murali, he used to look back at his Saffie mate Kallis (at slips) and laff about it :phehehe:

Zelig Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 u expect him to keep against Murali, which he hasnt never done in his life?u get better as he get used to the bowlers But his batting record doesn suggest that. He has been dismissed the most by Murali - a freaking 12 times in 12 test matches. Know what, Kaneria has dismissed him 5 times in 7 matches. Go figure!
