thevortex Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 During the 2nd Test, Atul Wassan was extremely vocal about his criticism of Hawkeye. To sum it up, he said Hawkeye can be a guideline. It was not necessarily accurate. Accurate enough to be basing an out/not out decision solely on its predictions (or predilections, as the case may be). He is conspicuous by his absence in the 3rd Test! Did that comment about Hawkeye cost him his spot? If yes, is that fair? Does anybody think that there is a concerted attempt going on in the cricket world to thrust Hawkeye down people's throat - without due proof? And when doubt over the technology's accuracy is rampant not just among spectators but also among the playing professionals, to boot.
SachDan Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 If that's the case, why is Allan Donald not there for this test? My guess is Rohan Gavaskar is cheaper than Atul Wassan :)
saneindian Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 LOL Atul Wasan is not well. Saw him at Max Hospital, Delhi yesterday. Conspiracy theories galore!!!

Karan114 Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 LOL Atul Wasan is not well. Saw him at Max Hospital, Delhi yesterday. Conspiracy theories galore!!! But maybe he was in hospital because he has been victimized by secret agents from the "Hawk-Eye for World Domination" association :winky:

thevortex Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Not sure how many of you are following the pre-match/post-match commentary stints being put on by Ten Sports. If you had, you would have noticed Charu Sharma's over-zealousness when it comes to Hawkeye. It was so palpable that it was laughable. :) By the way, to those talking about Donald - that guy had really nothing to offer in terms of useful cricketing talk. He either agreed or disagreed. Thats all. Nothing original at all. He deserved to be axed. I would not say the same about Wassan. Again - no consipracy theory. Just a question. Sometimes these lead anchors only reflect what the broadcasters' view really is. So if Charu was so keen on brushing off any criticism on Hawkeye you can be reasonably sure that he was probably doing it on behalf of Ten Sports. Now, that does not sound like a conspiracy theory, does it?

Wait, Bossbhai and me are also paid by the H/E guys for propaganda, so scratch that
kabira Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 LOL vortexbhai. Atul Wassan made comment last time that indians team was never number 1 or never deserved to rank number 1. and you are telling us he makes meaningful comments.
thevortex Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Kabira - dont you think that No.1 position comment too was warranted? I am not questioning India's hard climb there. It is about what they are doing once they are there. I am thinking I should have added a smiley after my first post :).

f.b.m Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I think the Hawkeye consortium caused food poisoning to someone who spoke out against tyranny..
achilles Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 No. I don't think Ten Sports is that petty. Also, its not as if India is using it and he went against our team. He was just making a general statement.
saneindian Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 BUMP. Atul "The Hawk Eye hater" Wassan is back in the Ten Sports studio.:cantstop:
