Who are you to judge if my points are idiotic? I haven't attacked anyone while enganging in a serious debate unlike you. So if you've some points to make, make it. Or just stop effing making a joke of yourself. This guy has a tendency of Jumping on Guns without reading the posts properly, so dont take him too seriously.

For me both are great captains and have their equal importance in indian cricket but i am not one of those who demean any one individuals captaincy record just for the fact that i dont like that individual

Its just as we feel its too early to compare him with others or calling him the greatest. Its like somone had great 3-4 years and you start calling him the greatest batsman ahead of SRT.

Yes lucky in the sense, he has SRT who is in the form of his Life with Sehwag. During Ganguly's time SRT was having the worst phase of his career. Mainly in the later part from 2004.

Ganguly managed to win 2 and loose 2 at home and win 1 and loose 1 away. I cant see how thats "great". About Strength, We never played, I mean never played against Warne and McGrath away in this decade. At home when they both played we won 2 and lost 2 games, not a record that I would be gloat about. About the series in 2004, Pathan (making debut), Agarkar and Nehra were our key bowlers along with kumble in that series. Batting was relatively weaker compared to that we have now and bowling was much weaker. Still we managed to draw against a strong Oz team. Agree there was no Warne/Mcgrath in that series, but our bowling was much worse and their batting lineup was world class. If you think drawing series at home against 'that' team is nothing great, I quit. And about playing McGrath away, yep we haven't. How does that make it weaker? We lost 2 and won 2 against the Oz with Warne and McGrath at home, that's nothing to gloat about but winning test matches against ben hilfenhaus, mitchell johnson and Katich/Clarke/Hussey etc at home instantly crowns you as the best captian eva. Am I right?

Also, he did too much shuffling in the batting order in both ODIs and T20s where he used to come at no. 3, sometimes Rohit in spite of Raina doing well consistently. Now its settled and if he sheds his stubborness to some extent by picking certain players all the time regardless of their performance(which even Ganguly did- in Dinesh Mongia's case) he could be the best ever. And as you said, in tests Ganguly didnt have someone like Sehwag and both opening positions were fairly unstable, neither did he have a reliable wicketkeeping batsman:--D .

Not just that, i think Zak's county stint has changed him as a bowler completely.

So far I don't think Dhoni has done anything to be the 'best captain eva', hence posting views. Isn't that the whole point of a forum?
