As a woman I will be alone in India' date= and I am doing a lot of research, seems to me that India comes across as very unsafe for women. Most of the news article in Indian papers and news sites are full of stories, I don't mean to offend anyone but I don't think I want to be moving to India. I have read a lot of great things about the country as well, but you must understand I am a woman and will be alone, sorry but I am just very doubtful of this at the moment.
Great choice I'd say. India is, as a matter of fact, very unsafe for women.

Priyanka, I am actually very worried about moving to India now, I was looking forward to coming to India but after reading the news and blogs of western women who have been to India it's really starting to worry me. No job is worth my safety.

Since you were/are coming alone, I'd say not coming would be the better decision. @bold: That's exactly my point.

Sorry but I thought India is a democratic country? It's sad when a normal person needs security/bodyguards, I didn't know things were this bad where women need personal security. After doing more research seems like India is one of the most dangerous places for women in the world. As for the police and talking from the research I have done, it seems the police don't think highly of women either.

Yes. You seemed to have researched very well.

I am just doing a lot of research, and it's quite scary as a woman to read about all of this, even Priyanka seems to agree with me.

I am not sure I want to move to India now, if I do move to India I will be based in Delhi, but the job will involve a lot of traveling around the country. And it's obvious from some of the comments the men are making they have no idea about what women go through.
