I think they can afford paying the damages for they make a lotta money during the scandal and make their newspaper popular enough to be in a position to pay the money during an impending lawsuit.
Well they are part of a big medi Conglomerate - Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, so they can aford it.

Really hope PCB find pak players not guilty and do nothing and attempt to brush it under the carpet. As it will once again highlight what a dumb country they are and put their reputation from zero to minus numbers.

Big breaking news but you can't find it on the home page of Pakistan's CNN (Aaj News) !! :hysterical::hysterical: Mods please change the thread title. NOTW is more credible than this crappy Aaj News!

Their jaahil fans are blaming India and other countries. That 'spot fixing' happens in other countries also. But where are the proofs?
lahori logic in action 1. indian bookie makes tie with brother majeed 2. brother majeed sets up fix on behalf of indian bookie 3. paki cricketers agree to fix 4. paki cricketers caught on sting operation 5. other cricketers say they are approached by indian bookies 6. paki cricketers facing bans, majeeed under investigation, tour in jeopardy and guess who gets the blame? the indian bookies. its all india's fault. damn the indians for making our innocent allah fearing talented kirketters becoming corrupt.

Nope dude its a conspiracy by BCCI and Indian govt. to finish Salman Butt's career because he has scored 6-7 hundreds against India. :fear:

Ah - this must come as disappointment to a lot of people who absolutely relished the idea of the Pakistani players as villains! I still think there is a little more juice left in this play though. Lets sit and wait it out to see what is left in the end.

Quite obviously anyone who values honesty in life will be disappointed if these scum get off the hook.

Most definitely. Provided that these players are indeed 'scum' as you so lightly say.

Of course they are. Whether there is enough for a criminal case or whether the ICC or PCB will have the balls to stand up and take action is not the issue. It is crystal clear that those no balls were predicted and staged. No amount of investigation or technicalities can change that.

Crystal clear? Well then maybe you ought to go talk to Scotland yard and tell them how it is so crystal clear. :)

For starters when did Scotland Yard deny Paki players' involvement?

Huh? So what part is murky to you? The agent of the players is on video saying that the said bowlers will bowl no balls in the said overs and presto it happens. What part is the confusion about in your mind? Scotland Yard is investigating a different and more complex angle. They are investigating whether money was exchanged, how much, whether bets were placed etc. etc. Don't think there is any confusion about players bowling no balls at predicted times. If there was confusion about such a basic thing they would not have even been investigating the case.

Neither are they confirming this.

I was just saying that the drama is not over yet. I am personally disgusted at all this. But I would still like to have some sort of absolute closure on this.

The only way the accused players will get out of this is if the video footage is fake. There might not be conclusive evidence to convict anyone in court, but that does not mean ICC/PCB will not punish the players (if the provided evidence is the real deal). If circumstantial evidence proves that there was something wrong, then it's enough for the cricket authorities to take some action. There was no conclusive evidence for any criminal proceedings against Jadeja, Azhar but they still got life bans. Didn't they?
