Interesting points, Rajan. But, how about match fixers like Akram continuing to play and becoming a legend and guys like Younis getting banned? Not to mention chaarsi's and chuckthar's cases. And this is not just one or two, more than half the team is involved in this ****. So as an emerging bowler who comes from poor backgrounds, you'd expect him to report against them? Alright to whom, the PCB, which is led by a corrupted bunch of clowns?
the probe panel Judge himself has revealed that he had a softcorner for Wasim and let him off lightly. there is an interview by him to cricinfo in 2006 where he says that. besides , PCB did not follow their own probe committee's findings- Inzy was appointed captain, Waqar was made coach, Ijaz assitant coach, Mushtaq was also in the team management during 2007 WC and woolmer death , -all these despite these great players paid fine and Justice Qayyum recommending that these characters should not be given any position with the team. tell me, will any one take the PCB seriously, after this? They impose life ban on players which has hardly 6 months life(even discounting for a fact that the average life expectancy in our part is less, 6-8 months is just too little:--D)! even a newbie takes them for granted and does not care a d@mn about getting caught.

:cantstop: But, now would you expect an 18 year old, who's barely got basic education to report to ICC or succumb to the pressure? See, I'm not trying to say Aamer is a saint, just that it'd be a bit unfair to give him a harsh verdict like life ban, compared to the mofos like Butt, Kakmal, Chaarsi etc.

that does not cut ice with ICC at all. if he is old enough to earn for himself and his family, he is old enough to be responsible for his actions! especially after the shadow of match fixing which is following pak cricket team in Gulf/SL, Australia, each player and official of the team are instructed about -'do's and dont's". this is not 1999-2000 when Waugh & Warne were let off for lack of evidence or neither early this century when Cronje, Malik, Azhar & Jadeja were banned despite no clear evidence. this time ICC has very clear structure in ACSU,ICC and PCB have wriiten agreements/contracts with international cricketers about adhering to Anti-corruption procedures, approach by fixers, reporting about any offer of payment/gifts, there are clearly laid out policies and guidelines. they will certainly show the signed documents by Amir & co as proof of accepting the guidelines. these guys are screwed.

PCB will give him a life ban of full 2 months.
we can expect suspensions of the 3 players immediately, who have been directly indicted in no-ball saga . rest of the suspects may get away for lack of proof.but if Majeed has proof of the 20-20 or sydney gate, then that will be end of road for Kamran too.

If these thugs ganged up to remove Younis Khan - a world cup winning captain no less - what chance does an 18 year old have ? If he were to inform the authorities within the PCB, would anyone believe him ? Worse still, how does he know who he's complaining to isn't in on the act ? I feel for Aamer, I really do, I feel he's being used as a pawn.
This is one of the best post you've ever written on ICF>

He deserves another chance, everyone is allowed to make mistakes. Asif though should be shown the door forever.
If this was any other "Aamir", not the 18 year old prodigy "follow in the footsteps of Wasim Akram" Mohammad Aamir, would anyone be willing to give him a second chance ? Would anyone spare a second thought about the damage inflicted on his career ?

If it is your first mistake, and knowing the kind of monsters make up the Paki team, why not :dontknow: They should get the monsters out, and Asif is #1 in that list.

How can you be sure this is his 'first mistake'? This could be the first instant he is caught with the gang. They's already played in NZ, Australia and Srilanka..

Speculations without any proof cannot be allowed to affect judicial decisions. Even the courts have a first offense clause for small crimes, such as petty theft.

Problem is this exact attitude in Pakistan. Rewind to the time when Asif and Akhtar were caught doping. Everyone was hell bent on making Akhtar the fall guy. The general sentiment was that Asif is young and was coaxed into things by Akhtar and so Asif should be let off leniently. Now 4 years and numerous scandals later, Asif is being made the scapegoat and Amir is being given a soft corner. If strict action is not taken against him at this point, 5 years later Amir will be sending some other newcomer on the path to destruction. Probably a life ban is too harsh, but he should be given a minimum of 5 years ban. If he is really motivated and hungry, he will train and wait out those 5 years and come back reformed having realized the importance of what he missed out on. On the other hand, if he is given a 1-2 year ban, it will have no effect except to put the careers of future Pakistani cricketers in jeopardy.

These players should be suspended till the investigations involving all the recent matches and especially the Sydney test match and the Srilankan Asia cup match is over. What's the hurry to play these cheaters. Let them sit around and clear their names and then they will be free to do few more Spot Fixing in future till they are caught next time..

So ? He has been a repeat offender on countless different offenses' date=' it is time to kick him out forever. Doesn't matter if he is #1 baller or #10 baller.[/quote'] See, as much as I agree with Swetabh and you on this one, we all know what the end-result is going to be. They really don't have any one. Even Umar Gul is out of action. I see both Asif and Amir coming out of this since a few months, just like you, and everyone else knows for a fact that they will for a lack of will and benchstrength. These guys will be back sooner than anyone can imagine.

In the context of 100's of runs, what difference could a no ball here and there possibly make ? No body knows the no balls were pre arranged (no signals) and in what way would a couple of harmless no balls influence the outcome of the match ? Easy money, relatively secure and notoriously difficult to prove, you can see how he was lulled into a false sense of security. I think the no balls were to demonstrate to NOTW what Mazid was capable of and to show that he could influence the team into deliberately under performing if millions are to made in illegal gambling. The deliberate no balls can be thought of a "proof of concept" almost, just to show that he's got the Pak team in his pockets and can buy them into doing whatever he wishes.
