Thanks to these legends for ensuring the word "match fixing" died a certain death in Indian Cricket. It's in times like these when one realises the actual value these greats bring to a team other than their on field performance.

i think atleast sachin, Kumble,Srinath were around when Azhar/Jadeja were fixing matches.they kept quiet, did not inform BCCI/ICC or selectors.these men had the stature to stop this, yet did not come out in the open until the cronje gate hit the headlines.by no stretch of imagination, i suspect them involved in fixing, but these cricketers should have had the guts to atleast inform BCCI that these things are happening.in fact Kapil as the coach of indian test team, once convinced Sachin as captain, not to enforce the follow on. later when the decision was questioned, kapil disowned it completely. there was serious discussion about the huge money bookies made in the "follow on or not betting" for that test against NZ, in india.

We dont know how many from inside BCCI and the Indian government were involved. May be they protested and bumped into a wall. May be they did not raise their voice any louder because they knew it would have been useless. If Kapil could do what you have written above, it does not inspire a lot of confidence, does it? However, IIRC, Sachin once spoiled a fixed match by singlehandedly winning it for India. Anyone remembers which match it was?

I agree with u to a certain extent... yes, i read somewhere that the match fixers/bookies will not take risky bets until-"chottu"- got out.(thats how they nicknamed Sachin)..

Also he used to ensure that people like Donald,Pollock,Rhodes and Kirsten were never ever informed of the clandestine activities that were going on. Maybe this was the very same scenario in our dressing rooms as well.

I would agree that Azhar or other match fixers/bookies would not have directly approached Sachin/Kumble but our heroes had an idea about what was happening in the same dressing room. as some one pointed out, there could have been many reasons for not coming out-threat from underworld, lack of credible, legally valid proof etc.
