No truth in allegations of fixing in IPL-2

But in 2009, the guard would have been down and it would not be that difficult for fixers to get in touch with players again. I also don't buy the argument that "nobody would be stupid to fix in IPL". It is way too easy to do, and for the right money, a player with a bit of greed and compromised principles could well do it. Even if he is otherwise making decent money in the IPL. .
Yet they still get caught.............the motive to match fix is probably the lowest level in a tournament like IPL for big players who are raking in the money. But probably the highest motive for the fringe players to make some extra cash. Proof or it never happened. These things suddenly start appearing to keep news flowing from pakodi scandal.

We have just been accusing Pakistani fans of being in denial and now we are in danger of doing the same thing. Why is it so difficult to believe that this could be possible? Let's not forget that after the year 2000, the guard for fixers would have been up for a while, what with everybody being on tenterhooks. I am not saying it happened. I am also not saying it did not happen. I just don't want to live in denial, as if it could NEVER have happened.
Match-fixing, spot-fixing or fixing of any kind is stupid and short-term. No Indian player would do it. We banned OUR CAPTAIN for LIFE and our most flamboyant batsman of that time for 5 YEARS. We aren't involved in this. Not even a Junior cricketer would do this. About the other countries, only their players and boards can answer. I think the media's are just jumping the gun to make some good monies. And we think our media is trash!

BCCI's punishment of Jaddu exclusion from the IPL seems like a pretty harsh punishment for just trying to negotiate a private deal. Just shows how strict they would have been if was match fixing.

i will adopt a wait n watch policy. m not jumping the gun until a definite accusation against a player surfaces. These kinds of ifs n buts articles are just brought our to cause sensation. If its true then we will know soon. Till then :beach:

I would be really dissapointed if this was even remotely true, especially considering there are Australians accused of being in it as well. This has the potential to ruin the sport, hopefully the cheaters are kicked out regardless of what country they are from! On top of that, they should be scrapped from the history books even if it's Ponting or Tendulkar involved!

If proven true, hope the bans from CA are stricter than they usually are.

IPL is not an ICC event so they have no say on how to run it . I am also happy for pakis who will be jumping in joy now that IPL is also named in something. I am sure when it comes to IPL they would be more than happy to take a report for its word and no audio/video or any kind of proof would be needed to convince them IPL is corrupt.

I forsee the cricinfo article getting spammed by Pakistanis, Brits and Aussies, whenever they post the article there, conveniently disregarding that NO INDIAN player has been named and that players for their countries are prime suspects.

Thats because Indian bookies only approach non Indian players; its a massive conspiracy by BCCI to destory international cricket and run IPL 365 days a year; all this spot/match fixing is done by bookies on BCCIs payroll to deprive the world of talent like amir

No. The Indian Government and RAW is involved. The ICC is also owned by RAW as they decided to ban these players who were innoshent.

tl;dr anyway, anyone found guilty should get straight ban and should never be a part of IPL again, doesn't matter which country he belongs too also, IPL does have very stringent rules and they do follow it, unlike PCB and ICC, Jaddu paaji got banned for the whole year jut because he tried to negotiate below the table :D btw, was this report some Eid special or soemthing ???

So they have a dossier on IPL 2, after which IPL 3 has happened, and still have done nothing about it, which means the dossier is a POS. :hehe: This thing is not even worth denying. Show us some video proof then we will talk about denying it P@ki style :giggle:
