The Outsider Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I really dont get the taboo on religion on this forum. Why should anyone give a toss about "feelings being hurt" about their religion? And if there is religious bigotry and hatred' date=' what does anyone gain by hiding it and pretending it doesnt exist?[/quote'] This has been discussed and explained on the board multiple times. When this board was founded there were no such restrictions, but within 6 months we were hacked by a purportedly Islamic group, lost a lot of our content and had to regroup and come online. At which point the vast majority of the site's founders decided that it's not worth the headaches of hacking and lawsuits for a cricketing site, if we want to portray ourselves primarily as a cricketing portal. There was also the option put up in the public forums by Ravi that he was willing to abdicate all his rights on the site and transfer them to anyone who wants to take up the operations, as long as they paid up for the money he had already put in - in which case the new owner would decide his own rules for the site. There were no takers. And to think about it even as popular a forum as Bharat Rakshak was hacked into a couple of months back, and they have enormously more resources and time to spare than we have - a mere cricketing platform for Indian Cricket Fans.
Ram Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 When bigots slam a religion they dont like - FREEEEEEEDOM of SPEEEEEEEECH! When atheists criticize ANY religion - HATEEEEEEEEE SPEEEEEEECH! Oh the hypocricy never fails to amuse..! :hysterical:

yoda Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 4. yoda opened a new thread with the conspiracy theory that I had locked the thread after posting my remark to have the final word. Even after explaining to him that it wasn't me who locked the thread, he was adamant that the moderators want to have the final word. I deleted my original post stating clearly that since the thread is locked and people can't reply to my post there, it is unfair for that post to stand. yoda did not edit his thread and my supposedly offensive post still remains on this board discussed over a thread lasting close to 100 replies. Adios! how can I edit my first post and still keep the thread up? :nervous: you didn't delete that post disowning those comments, you did so cause you agreed it was unfair that people couldn't respond. well in the follow WTF thread people responded. if you are saying you are disowning what you said, feel free to delete that thread or I can request the sidekick mod who locked the first thread to delete the second thread.
yoda Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I remember reading about this. Why not simply b& the offending posters ? well he has to ban himself then and may be you. :hehe:

yoda Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 You can edit any post written by yourself. Don't give me faaltu gyaan. Of course I can. I meant to say what sense would it make to edit the first post a thread and still leave the thread behind. Anyways I am done with this bakwas. :finger:
Ram Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 feck SRT's captaining. this is more interesting....a mod crying cause he decided to give up his moderation rights in response to being called out after mocking Hindu gods on a forum where religion is off topic, while his mod buddy conveniently closed the thread right after his post ridiculing Ram and Hanuman. The ultimate hypocrite has spoken.. ! Where was your made-up outrage over the Mods having the last word, when we closed all those threads that had the usual Islam bashing, padre? :haha:
Guest Shivani Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 If there's something some post which you didn't like you have the option to ignore it or report it to the mods.. why make an issue ? :dontknow:

achilles Posted September 17, 2010 Author Posted September 17, 2010 Marrirs "essay" mania, what a person to talk about offences. The dude moved a thread of butchery of Sikh's to the JOKES section and then he has the nerve to talk about people getting offended. Wow. Everyone should've hailed you for your modding master-stroke, isn't it sunny boy? Please address your question to your 'Hindu' brother who brought forth the following comment in this thread : 'Thank You, Ms.I-will-pwn-anyone-who-disagrees-with-me-on-science' kthxbai. This was in response to your post, which is missing. Not surprising at all, but well, I'd like to respectfully agree to disagree with you on this. As far as your issue with my "consensus" thing goes, I was trying to do my bit to resolve the issue as some of the posts were deviating from the topic. I was attempting to get the discussion on track. I wouldn't have taken offence to your post had it not been as derogatory as it was. The post was then withdrawn. PS- Religious posts can and are getting quite ugly. Maybe we stop with it. Just a suggestion. This is the point of full stop for me.

The Outsider Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 you didn't delete that post disowning those comments, you did so cause you agreed it was unfair that people couldn't respond. well in the follow WTF thread people responded. if you are saying you are disowning what you said, feel free to delete that thread or I can request the sidekick mod who locked the first thread to delete the second thread. No, I did not delete my posts because I was disowning my comments. I deleted my post because : 1. The thread had been locked by another moderator, leaving people no chance to respond to the post - I do wish the resident Islam bashers extend the same courtesy of deleting their posts after the thread is locked. But who am I kidding! 2. I realized after the fact that I had overstepped the site's regulations on religious discussions - I also do wish that such realizations would dawn upon the resident Islam bashers that they are in violation of the site's rules. But again, who am I kidding! I obviously don't disown the content of what I said.
The Outsider Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 This was in response to your post, which is missing. Not surprising at all, but well, I'd like to respectfully agree to disagree with you on this. Huh? I commented on your trolling skills in a cricket thread. Majority of the board would accept what a wonderful troll you are, but that's besides the point. What was the need to bring in a discussion which happened in the Politics forum and was about science and religion in response to me being appreciative of your trolling skills? Has any poster brought in your religion when you have called them a troll? As far as your issue with my "consensus" thing goes, I was trying to do my bit to resolve the issue as some of the posts were deviating from the topic. I was attempting to get the discussion on track. I wouldn't have taken offence to your post had it not been as derogatory as it was. The post was then withdrawn. So you will fabricate 'facts' to get a topic back on track. Thanks, but we don't need that kind of altruism. There are moderators to ensure the discussion stays on track, and if it has deviated substantially to create another thread for the new discussion. But, thanks again for your good intentions in trying to keep threads on topic. Why don't you employ this philosophy to so many other threads which go off topic?
King Tendulkar Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Kiddo, come up with something at least remotely original.. essays, Sikhs..ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…:hysterical: I've seen 10 year old kids who have a better sense of humor than you do..What does your T-shirt read? “I am sensitive and I am sooooooooooooooooo offended..!’? May not be original but its still a fact that it happened. You put the butchering of sikhs by islamic paks in to the jokes thread and then laughed about the murders as well. Great moderation. Its a shame not one other mod or administrator actually condemned MMs actions, as frankly he should have been stripped of mod duties after that and probably served a ban. But when you have friends in high places and all that....
The Outsider Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 BossBhai, neither did I come up with these rules on my own nor do I officially own the site. You have an issue, you take it up with Ravi, under whose name the site is officially registered and with Varun, who would have to clean up any mess resulting from your Islam obsession. PS : And frankly, I find your attitude about, 'Let me rant freely about Islam, Varun is there to clean up the mess quite disgusting'. But it's for you and him to discuss.
kumble_rocks Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Just out of curiosity , how much will this site sale for ? Anybody ?
The Outsider Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Blah blah blah....as I said, go and talk with Ravi and Varun instead of wasting your energies here. But I really loved the gem about how Pandits would have been able to avoid the 'death kiss' if only they had read your rants on ICF. Please keep this top notch entertainment coming.
