asterix
What has happened to the Games village comes as no surprise to most Indians. Delhi has a reputation for badly constructed, leaky buildings as developers collude with authorities to cut corners and compromise on quality. It is also possibly India's most corrupt city. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/soutikbiswas/2010/09/are_the_delhi_games_doomed.html
Gunner_Mania
Imo, the big concern is still security, and hopefully it goes fine. Next, why are we having the CWG now? First there is the Babri verdict and more attention will go towards the India Aus series. So basically why did we have the 2 at this period, when our whole attention should be on this event. Next, I do not understand what will happen post-CWG, there is absolutely no accountability in India and I think the Congress will only say that we have learned by this event and will improve the World Cup 11 and of course, it will happen and people will again praise Congress. They will easier forget CWG just like 26/11. Err..wrong question. This was decided long long ago before the Babri verdict date was decided or the India-Australia series. Don't you know Mr kalmadi asked for a 100 crore compensation from the BCCI because the Ind-Aus series was scheduled. It is a surprise he didnt ask the Courts also to donate 100 crorers as they have scheduled the Babri verdict now. I am sure he would come to your house and ask for a donation to the CWG if you have a wedding during he games citing that your wedding was distracting your family members attention from the CWG. Lastly, the WC11 is a different beast, while money hungry and corrupt, the BCCI knows that the better it runs the show the more money it will make. They are way smarter than Kalmadi and his cronies. achilles
They wanted doctors to volunteer for free without any food/travel allowance whatsoever  The army has been asked to secure the games for FREE, as the OC doesn't have money to pay them allowances. They've been asked to fend for their own food and shelter too. This, after promising the army handsome money last year.

Govt doctors are also being forced to work "at their own risk".They were forced to sign papers saying the CWG or the govt is not responsible for their safety during their duty hrs for the games. After spending 70.000 crores for these effed up games ...the MCD had the gall to ask people to come out and help clean up the roads and gardens. May be this is the time to get the"thousands of ghost MCD workers "out of their graves.

King Tendulkar
This is all such a shame. Could have been a beautiful event to show case our wonderful country. However, not all is lost. Maybe we will just get it right in time. And the athletes who come may leave India saying everyting turned out ok in the end. We will pull it of somehow.
