Bengal scored 473 with SS Lahiri's 68 holding the lower middle order. Delhi bowlers weren't that bad today as apart from Sangwan and Nanda, every bowler grabbed a wicket or two, notable among them: Bhatia 2/42 Narwal 3/61 While batting Delhi lost a quick wicket but Dhawan and Kohli have moved cautiously. Dhawan: 33 not out Kohli: 51 not out Dinda took the only wicket.

The red ball swings more the white one and he can swing it both ways. He is still doing better than the others in domestic mathces and deserves a chance. He also bowls better when batsmen are defending than hitting out BTW Asif is pretty orddinary in LOIs too, we wouldnt know till he is given a chance!

Day 2 of the Dilli/ Bengal game started off in looked like a different set of conditions than the first day. With the new ball in his hand, Parvinder Awana was getting the ball to move/seam around a bit in the first session. The two well settled batsmen from the previous day, Das and especially Manoj Tiwary, looked unsettled on a fresh day. Awana in particular was troubling Tiwary a lot and eventually Narwal reaped the reward of the wicket from the other end. @ Awana - has a bit of pace compared to the other Dilli bowlers but he bleeds a lot of runs (range 125-132 km/h IIRC) @ Narwal - slowish bowler 120-125km/h, can get the ball to swing. IIRC, he played a few matches Rajasthan Royals Kohli looked very much at ease when batting - fluent strokeplay. Looked quite classic esp with the cap on. I think Test cricket awaits him. Meanwhile, Dhawan was seen easily pulling Dinda's short balls to the boundary. @ Punjab/UP match: I thought the match was well poised at the end of day 1 but Punjab messed it all up with a collapse on the second day losing 4 wickets for <10 runs

TBH PK is a really good swing bowler.So its fair enough to take him in Eng, NZ and SAF where the ball moves quite a bit.See pace is not the only thing that troubles the batsman, swing alone can do the trick too.So to me PK has got a good control in his swing, and can be drafted in the side for tests, when the ball is swinging. Lets give him a chance in one of the Tests against NZ.

Chennai: Half centuries from S. Anirudha, S. Badrinath and R. Sathish put Tamil Nadu in a commanding position at the end of day two of its Ranji Trophy Elite Group ‘A' match against Assam here on Tuesday. Starting the day at 21 for no loss in response to Assam's 184, the host was 300 for four when stumps were drawn. The thrust that took Tamil Nadu to its end-of-day total came from a fourth-wicket partnership of 135 between Badrinath and Sathish. When the two came together five overs after lunch, Tamil Nadu had suffered twin setbacks. Minutes after opener S. Anirudha retired hurt with a cramp on 71, skipper Dinesh Karthik fell cheaply, caught behind after chasing a wide one from seamer Ranjeet Mali. The scoring rate had also taken a dip, thanks to a combination of the heavy outfield and Assam's restrictive tactics, Dhiraj Goswami landing his medium pace wide of off stump to a 7-2 field. But few can question Kaif's ability as a leader in the longer version. On Tuesday, Kaif came up with a half century against Punjab in their Elite Group B match of the Ranji Trophy at the Bhama Shah Stadium. Beginning his innings with a cover drive off debutant seamer Navdeep Siddhu, the skipper kept striking the ball along the mat. Before he was bowled by Navdeep Singh, three overs before the end of Day Two, Kaif struck 58 off 176 balls with the help of six boundaries and a six. UP ended at 221/5, 67 short of Punjab's first innings total of 288. Before this, Uttar Pradesh had all the time in the world to get their innings going on Tuesday and openers Tanmay Srivastava and Shivakant Shukla took quite a while to get going, content with gauging the Victoria Park wicket. With Praveen Kumar skittling the remaining four Punjab wickets early in the morning to finish with a five-wicket haul, UP knew they had time on their side.
