I must say I thought that Australia had the game won when you were 8 down, but then again I knew it wasn't over especially with Laxman at the crease. It surprises me that I as an Australian fan had more confidence in India winning the match then many Indians themselves who had already written them off. You guys are number 1 in the world, the fans shouldn't be so pessimistic about the teams chances and shouldn't give up so easily. I'm a little dissapointed about the terrible level of umpiring which went against BOTH sides, although more India. Shows why they should have the referral system in place, it's really foolish not to. But all in all must say it was a very good game and there really wasn't much between the two sides as shown by the end result. However, India won my respect in this game with their never say die attitude, especially from Sharma. Looking forward to the next game, even though for Australia the best we can do is tie it 1-1.

I hope for one last Australian summer next year wtih Pontin, Hussey, Katich, Laxman and SRT. It will probably bring this great rivarly to an end after 12 summers but nothing lasts forever. Both of us may not have a team that good for a few years to come after that probably.

Thanks Bradman. The match was so close and you are right about the umpiring. I think all of us would unanimously agree that BCCI needs to really adopt UDRS from now on. It's just not a good feeling to see ridiculous decisions! It was a roller coaster ride and the victory was sweeter for us because we pretty much snatched the match from you after lunch with the 9th wicket partnership. Cricket was the winner in the end with such an exciting game. There are quite a few members here who give up easily and start posting negatively coz someone "feels it in their privates" or in the name of "jinxing". I have never quite understood the latter and the purpose it serves. I guess it makes up for some amusing threads. The Aussie team is known for their never die attitude since a long time, so your fan base is probably more optimistic in crunch situations. We started to get this flavor under the leadership of Ganguly/Kumble and it is now being properly cultivated under Dhoni. I guess the more close matches we win against tough opponents with consistent fighting spirit, the higher will be the confidence level and faith of the Indian fans in the future. Good luck to your team. However, we will be back to make sure that Ponting will not taste victory on this tour. :D

No worries all, was a great match and as you righfully said cricket was the winner in the end (as well as India haha). For sure they need to implement the UDRS system, it's clear that the umpires can't be trusted! Whilst I know they are human and do make mistakes, they make far too many for what they are being paid for. By the way, you raise some very good points in that middle paragraph, I think that after this match Indian fans or players for that matter should never lose faith! And we will see about that last bit haha, although all the momentum is heavily in India's favour now, it will be tough for Australia to bounce back from that loss. However, I know they are capable of winning it so hopefully we can get another great match like the first one! Also, I think Bollinger is very important so if he isn't in the side, I think our chances of winning the match will decrease.
