saneindian Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Is Irfan still injured? He was named in one of the teams after he gave a fitness test at NCA. But somehow he did not played a single match in the Challenger Trophy. He's missed out on the Irani Trophy and now this one too. In all probability ( if he is indeed injured) will miss out on the first few rounds of Ranji Trophy as well. Not the best way to start the season for someone looking to make it to the Indian Team. I wonder on what basis, can he get a place in the Indian ODI team now.
girishk14 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 he isnt injured. theres just this big movement against him to help R.Jadeja retain his place. Other countries have so many quality allrouders - kallis, morkel, watson, mcdonald, mathews, collingwood, etc.......and the one we have, never is gonna play for india again.
ZodiaC Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I don't have any hopes of seeing him back, irrespective of whether he plays in the Challenger trophy or not. He'd have been a good option for tests in SA as the third seamer and allrounder.

[b']He'd have been a good option for tests in SA as the third seamer and allrounder. For that he needs to play some matches, right? I am clueless as to why he did not play a single match in Challengers after being named in the squad. There have been no news reports either. The last match he played was in the IPL and since then he has not played a single competitive match, missed out on the Corporate Trophy despite being named in Air India team, again missed out on Irani Trophy due to an injury and now the Challenger Trophy due to some unknown reason.

I agree with you, has he lost the interest in the game or what? :dontknow:
Guest prince Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I saw one video on gujrattv9 on youtube dated 21/09/2010, in that interview Irfan said that it will take him one or two months to get his fitness back after a long injury. He also said that he went to Australia for fitness training and learned new fitness skills.
