fineleg Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Someone in ICF mentioned that a week ago. I forgot which poster. Has Dhoni requested rest from entire NZ (Test and ODI) series? Seems like thats why MSD is playing in Aus ODIs, so he gets complete rest after that. Otherwise why has BCCI not rested him? Selectors have rested nearly all seniors for Aus ODI. Do you remember who posted this info at ICF or have you read abt this? I would support full rest for MSD against NZ if thats the plan. We need him fresh for SA tour.
cowboysfan Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 no real loss imo,Karthik would do fine.he will even drop some dollies to keep things interesting.
kabira Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Oh No more Saha please. Parthiv Patel may get the opportunity.
fineleg Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 I did. Thanks dial. Do you remember the source which mentions this? TV or website?
Karan114 Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 In keeping with the selectors’ rotation policy, if he needs some rest… Hopefully, in the next series I will get some rest. http://www.telegraphindia.com/1101020/jsp/sports/story_13077638.jsp (Long press conference transcript with the other stuff unrelated to this) Looks like he will get a break during the NZ series (rightly so) but not clear if Tests or ODIs and how long.

Good. Hopefully it is for Tests and ODIs. What will be good is if he can ask for warmup match(es) for SA tour for Indian team!
saneindian Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Dont think Dhoni will take rest during the NZ tests(maybe for the 3rd test he may). For ODIs, he may ask for rest for the last few matches. As it is, after the test match got over on 14th and before the next test starts on 4th Nov, in about 20 days he would have played just 2 ODIs giving him ample time to rest himself.

Yes even i would be surprised if he did but against NZ at home we should be fine without Dhoni. What we need is a injury free Dhoni for WC, we finally enter WC as fav lets keep it that way.
ZodiaC Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Dhoni can rest from the third test and all the ODIs.
DomainK Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I would like to see him in the tests. But if he needs rest, he should get it.
