For me it's easy. Pecking order is Win in SA test series, Win in Aus test series, WC and then win in rest of the countries. Teams can win world cup without really being world beaters - SL has never been world beater (in some countries they are not even competitive). How many of us believe that we were no 1 cricket team in early 80's? If i recall correctly, WI had blanked India by 6-0 in ODI's, immediately after 83 WC win. I think we were not in even top 3 at that time. But to win a gruelling test series in SA and Aus, you have to be damn good. A win in upcoming SA series will be ultimate testimony of our number ranking in world cricket.

And that's why it's a thrill to win a world cup! After 20-25 years, people will hardly remember that we were competitive or number one or etc in tests in year 2010 but no one will forget 2011 WC victory even if that's gonna be by some crappy team. for tht matter, I dont use any other word tht I type here with my friends. talk in hindi with them with a few friendly cuss words thrown inbetween. Use 'mate' just to give a friendly and respectable feel to the conversation, like using dost or yaar in hindi.

Would like to point you towards few strong points of indian attack(which is the most complete attck in the world these days): sharma: pace and bounce. Ability to bowl long tireless spells(upto 9 overs!) khan: Most wkts among currently active pacers in the world(254). Great control over line lengthe, great guile and tremendous with reverse swing.phenomenal form of late(last 2 years) Sreesanth: genuine swing bowler. Was MoM in indian wins over SA and SL in Joberg n Kanpur respectively, when the ball swung. bhajji: champion offie, closing in on 400test wkts. enough said. ojha: very tight bowler. Adds variety as a left arm spinner. Mishra: decent leggie with a good gogly. I ran a similar poll on an australian cricket forum. the result (not to my surprise) Ashes-->12, ODI WC-->0 http://forum.sportal.com.au/yaf_postst76650_which-is-more-valuable.aspxEvrybdy loves their test cricket mate.
